So I found a Paslode framing nailer.

I was driving down the road the other evening and saw something orange laying in the middle of the road, just seeing it out of the corner of my eye I thought it was a tool case of some sort so I stopped the car. I jumped out and waited for traffic to pass and ran out and grabbed it. It is a Paslode gas powered framing nail gun in the case with the battery. The thing goes for nearly $400. new.

I looked all over the internet and called all the contractors locally that have the name that is written on this thing to try to locate the rightful owner who I am sure is pissed that it is missing. I have had no luck in finding the owner. Trying to do the right thing here, any suggestions?

Dave I'm not sure what to say you do,but you did try! Your a stand up guy for trying.Those nailers cost $379 at most retailers.They are a nice unit to use if you don't have an air compressor.They however require a good bit of maintance to keep them in there best working condition.I have owned several of those paslodes and I'm down to one now.It used to cost any where from 75-100 bucks to send in for repairs so i started repairing them myself.I still get some of my constrction buddies call me to repair theirs,and if the repairs cost more than a replacement I end up with the junk....in fact i have over 75 junk ones...sorta a paslode bone-yard.Nice find Dave

Gas prices were rising.... Was goin to shoot pool with a friend..... Volkswagen pulled up next to me..... wanted to race lol...... so i gunned it..... kicked his butt..... got to the pool hall...... every damn tool feel out of the bed of my truck because I had the tailgate down because of gas prices! I was young and stupid..... and had to borrow tools from guys at work for a week (very embarrassing!)

Sounds like a similar situation - he's too embarrassed to claim his gun back :dblthumb2:

Try that, and depending on how intent you are on getting it back to the owner try the local lumber yards. I know the guys at Lowe's and the other local lumber yard we use a lot know me and my dad on a first name basis. If they are in and out a bit, it is possible someone will know them.
