So I was at the carwash vacumming my car...

I bet the Viper wound up having little to no water-spotting
from this Gentleman's drying process.

And speaking of Gentleman:
I also bet that I would have found it to be very difficult to
maintain a Gentlemanly-demeanor, as he evidently did:
when being confronted by your inane histrionics.

Bob

Yes, I walked up to him and said nice car first. And we both have veterans plats so we talked about our service to our country first, then I shrieked when I saw what he was doing and began to inform him of the the folly of his ways. So two vets were able to have a Gentlemanly-demeanor...

Chill out folks, I don't go running up to people historically looking for a beef. It was a nice viper, we both had vet plates and I found this to be a funny story to amuse folks, not evoke grief.

I have stopped trying to help strangers a long time ago. People who do not ask for help will pretty much never listen to anything you might try to teach them. It's a total waste of time and energy.

I saw a guy using a squeegee at a gas station to "wipe down" his car once.
..

It's love bug season here in Florida. We see this all the time, I just figure it's job security for a local detailer.

Really? you sound like a really nice rational guy. This story was to evoke some humor into our day, not evoke sheer violence. Nice forum! Nice group of folks here! I though folks from Texas were nice.

It's THOUGHT..not though...us people here in IL are not any better than big ol' Texas.

JK.. all good.

I wouldn't be all cranky about it either, not sure why people are in such bad moods these days.

My ex-sister in law would use a can of Pledge and a cruddy rag to "wash" her car when it was dirty enough to need a power washer pre-rinse before I would even thinking about touching the car.

You should have made all this information obvious in your first post because it appeared you DID go running up to him hysterically. Your spelling is indeed amusing, I'll give you that. I too am a Vet by the way and I thank you for your service to our country.

I don't know anyone from Texas but I do know the cops there are a good shot and for that I say THANK YOU

I've spent some time in TX, got family there too. I like it, but a tad too hot for me.

Anyway, I've clearly learned my lesson and will mind MOB at the car wash.

I'm just excited about all the new stuff I'm learning here. I'll save it for my own cars.

Thanks

Sorry your words of wisdom fell on deaf ears.

TBH- I don't like being approached when I'm out doing something.

Just the other day some very weird-looking dude came up to me while I was trying to use the ATM to talk to me about my tattoos.
Um, dude! Get the F away from me!

"I notice you have a little dogga poopie on yer shooess"...

I hope someone gets that.

Yeah, I was like that years ago. Now, I simply let my customers ask the questions and I answer them.
Btw, let them ask and have an educated and knowledgeable answer. Chances are you'll have an upsell in the conversation and many times will secure a repeat customer.

Happens all the time.

I am still like that. I tell my kids and even relatives to bring over their car and I will wash and detail their cars with them. They look at me like haven't you ever heard of a car wash and why would spend the day doing that ? Maybe there is something wrong with us vets. Maybe we like to put 100 percent into what ever we do.

And according to you he took your advice to heart
"I thought I saved his car but, as I walked away, he continued to dry the Viper with the P20 Sand paper, err... I mean courtesy dry towels. UGG..."

LOL!! And I too am a Vet. You can't educate all the people all the time, and rarely some of the people any of the time.

I myself just laugh and move on, I choose not be obsessive compulsive about other peoples cars. Case in point this new Lexus ISF 350, now bear in mind I took these pictures minutes apart in the same parking lot.

Mine:

Theirs, butchered by a hack with a rotary, burn through on the cc by the logo and all!

Yes I was tempted to wait for the owner, but would they understand, get it or really care. I walked away. Ever since then I just let it go.

Oh yeah, and at an atm no less, major friggin defensive reaction at my end. But seriously M, no more walk up atm's okay, we all love you here.
