The weather was nice outside, so I washed my wife's Explorer and put a nice coat of sealant on it. It was looking pretty.

I started on my truck and saw that my left-rear tire was a bit low. No big deal, I'll take a drive and put some air in it once I'm done drying it. I get to the local Diamond Shamrock and my tire was registering less than 20 psi. Yes, it was pretty low. I filled it back to 60 psi and MAN that this start hissing like a mean cat!

Drive back to the house and I see this HUGE nail in my tire. I take the drill to take it out and my truck was sitting like PAUL WALL in less than 5 minutes: SIDEWAYS!

Had to put the spare on there and I'm riled up that my entire truck was looking pretty for next week, but now I'm rolling with an ugly spare. A dirty spare!

The upside is, now I get to clean the inside of at least one of my rims!!!

Sorry bud! The up-upside is, you can get i t fixed in an hour or so. I've had a few flats before, took em to the local tire store, and had it patched or fixed. Or ended up buying a new tire.

Spares are NO fun to drive. Especially if it rains or snows within the next few days. I'd get it fixed first thing tomorrow.

That sucks! My brother had a screw in his tire yesterday, we got it plugged at the firestone for a couple bucks. 60 PSI on truck tires?? wow... that is high.
 
i hope you go somewhere reputable! i got a nail in my tire once and took the wheel down the street and watched the idiot scratch my wheel's lip all to hell. i was calm as i asked for a repair and they told me to eff off basically....i took it somewhere else the next day to get the tire put on...stupid mistake
 
If you have nice wheels you definately have to watch were you take it.
 
I actually says 60 PSI on the inside of my doors, the tires are "E" rated so I think they can handle it. My front tire was a bit over 50 PSI, I guess I'll leave it there.

I am thinking about just putting my spare tire on my proper wheel. And then maybe buy a used tire from Craigslit and putting that on the steelie.
 
I'm just always amazed on how such a small jack can lift up the entire truck. Makes me a nervous wreck!
 
Oh, I am used to passenger tires at around 30 PSI and we have never had a truck/suv so I was surprised to hear 60!!

Try running 60 in the front and 50-55 in the back it will smooth the ride out a little. Just be sure to air back up if pulling a gooseneck or fifth wheel. With the diesel in the front you want to run full pressure.
 
Makes good sense Cummins03, I'll have the tire place air up the others as well!
