So, PO 85U and PO 91E are the "regular" line of Menzerna?

I'm trying to get straight what the "common" items that Menzerna offered over here via CMA were. I know they are called Intensive Polish and Final Polish 2, but with the real Men Germany labeling, I'm confused.

From what I've read, the 106 FF and the PO 87MC are the 2 ceramiclear polishes right? And the super IP PO 83Q is just a step below power gloss in terms of abrasiveness and one step up from the "Regular" IP right?
 
the 2 ceramic polishes AG has is the PO83Q which was called PO85RD3.01 and the 106FF....the only other ceramic one is PO85RD and PO85RE5 which is not sold here....

are addressing the special requirements of this new coating generation.

that is haze and hologram free.

the finest finish polish AG has is the PO87MC...which is close to the PO85RD

with using AL's list of PO83Q, PO106FF, and PO87MC is there any need to use PO115C glaze? from what i am getting out of all the info people have posted the 87MC would be used has the glazing step before applying any wax. please correct me if i am wrong

If you get your finish to its best and you are happy with it..I see no need for the glaze...I am not familuar with the Menz glaze..but looking at the info on it..it is just like any glaze..well it may be better...it is for concealing any marring you have on your paint...if you just want to get 90% of the swirls out an leave the rest then the glaze would come into play... it is a oil clay based glaze so it is best to use with a wax....it does no corrections..just fills....

PO87MC is your finishing polish..the jeweling lotion...that should get you the mirror finish....then seal or wax..I believe this is the closest polish to PO85RD..

Thanks for the info Al, I gotta wonder why the PO 83Q isn't priced in line with their other nano polish, 106 FF? (Not that I'm complaining) :)
 
Also, the more I've considered, the more I *think* one could get that Menzerna finish without the 106FF, thus saving a bunch of money. Couldn't one just use the Super IP PO 83Q and follow with the Micro Polish PO 87MC?

If I understand correctly, the 106FF is just a step above the PO 87MC, so if a car needs a 2 step anyways, the 106FF shouldn't be needed? From what I've read, the 106FF is nice though because you can get the finish of a car with a bit more than minor swirling perfect in one step. You think that's right? Or, in those instances, did that user just use a more aggressive pad for one pass, say green, then follow with another pass with the same product with a white or gray pad? If that's the case, I think I'd rather have the versatility of the Super IP and Micro Polish duo (assuming I don't want to buy all 3 like you mentioned AL).

It all depends on the cars ....

Intensive to me is for severe swirled paint...beaters or neglected paint...and real hard clears....needs to be repolished most times to get any marring out since the cut is 3 and gloss 4

106FF is pad dependant and can do alot...and most times it is LSP ready after polishing....but can use 87MC for just ramping it up a bit more...I have taken dog paw scratches out of paint with 106 no problems with a white pad and no marring and ready for wax

to me 106 is the best offering Menz USA has for a all around polish...

but try the 2 you want and see how they work out for you...

Thanks I'll have to order some up soon and see how they work for me. In your opinion, doing a pretty marred car I should need the SIP right? As in, even a somewhat aggressive pad and 106FF probably won't take the bad marring out?

No..what I meant to say is 106FF will take out medium marring...depends on the pad...

example...my truck was bad...marred and swirled from ice sliding over the paint during the winter...brush marks on the side from going in the woods to get wood...and 106FF took them right out and fast.....

now if your doing a beater...real bad swirled paint and hard clears marred bad..then go SIP...nothing better...cuts fast so check often...but you may have to use a finer polish after...soft paint will need a final polish..hard clears come out better and just about come out ready to wax....the hard clear resists the marring and hazing more...

there is a Scottish gent that did tests on pad and polish combos to show what each polish will do with what pad....he was on Topia and on the UK detailing site....I believe his first name was David.....I used alot of his combos and they worked flawlessly...plus Porta and mesael and Rawdawg all have good combos...and info....I picked all thier brains before I made my big purchase...on pads and polishes...

I used 106FF and orange Edge and removed some pretty bad swirls, then white Edge to polish even more. May have to hit the swirls twice but better than cutting too much with a more intense cut polish. Just my opinion.
 
hey Al, are the water based polishes better than silicone based? If so, why?
 
well the water ones are body shop safe...the silicone ones sometimes have a tendency to fill with the oils..but they both work the same as I seen....also the water ones tend to dust some..most of the menz polishes are water based..some are water and oil..but not SILICONE OIL....maybe mineral oil or glycerine....

also the oil based work longer....like Opt compounds...


the menz polishes work and cut fast...so no real need for a ton of oil...they still have a decent work time...

Our detailer uses 106ff 0n black cars. You should see the depth and gloss ."Perfection."
