Thanks for the kind words everyone. It's great to be able to share with fellow enthusiasts!
They are very rare right now. I've not seen a single one, Toyota or Subaru, in my local area. I've only seen two Toyota's and both were in Tulsa of all places.
Demand for BRZ's is off the chart. After only a couple months on the market Subaru had to shut off customer orders because they received orders for more BRZs than they sold in all of 2020 (the last production year of the Gen 1 car) with all the orders they have to fulfill, Subaru will struggle to have any spare inventory to sell on dealer lots. From what I was told by a Toyota dealer, they aren't even taking orders. Many Toyota dealers in my area have cars inbound in the next couple of months, but they were all automatics. Not sure what that is all about...
The cars are so similar my initial decision between the two came down to color since Toyota only offers a darker blue and I like the lighter World Rally Blue better. However, I'm starting to like the front end of the Subaru better. It has a little more character.
I was not aware of any dyno results. It wouldn't surprise me to see it putting down more power than advertised. My GTI had roughly the same amount of power in a slightly heavier platform, and this car feels quicker despite not having all the turbo torque down low.
That would be blast!
