SoCal Get Together! This Saturday! Marty McFly's 4x4 Truck!

Announcement

George Barris Memorial Funeral
The timing for this is a little early as we were planning on announcing our new program in January. This Friday I’m flying out to California to attend the George Barris Memorial Funeral on behalf of Bob McKee and representing Autogeek for the funeral service. I’ve known George Barris for about 12 years mostly from meeting and talking with him at car shows. He would remember me from my chrome leg otherwise I’m probably just another one of the millions of “car guys” he’s met in his career in the car hobby.

Competition Ready TV Show
The timing of this coincides with shooting the 2nd episode of our TV show, Competition Ready at the Petersen Museum. For our TV show we are preparing 4 cars at the museum for the grand opening of the Petersen Museum. The Petersen Museum has undergone a complete renovation to the tune of $80,000.000.00 dollars and part of this episode will be shot preparing the cars for the grand opening and part of the show will also be filmed on Saturday, December 5th at the actual grand opening.

NEW! Roadshow Classes
While out in California I have 4-5 free days in-between the funeral and shooting the TV show. So instead of waiting until January to start our new project we’re starting it while I’m in California.

This new project will include traveling to different states once a month for detailing classes and projects.

This is an exciting time to be in the car detailing industry because there’s so much opportunity available and technology being introduced that we want to help grow the industry and we know that education is the key.

Bob McKee, the CEO of Autogeek and PBMG is sponsoring this first Roadshow project and I want to thank him personally for providing the resources for a making the kick-off of this first roadshow project a reality way ahead of the time schedule. For this first detail project Bob will be supplying all the compounds and polishes we’ll need from Pinnacle Natural Brilliance and ceramic coatings from Pinnacle Black Label.

Here's the products for the Marty McFly 4x4 truck ready for shipping last night!

As a extra surprise! I’ve shipped out the brand new RUPES Mark II BigFoot 15 and BigFoot 21 polishers for everyone to test out at this first Roadshow Class.

In my office I have all my special and unique tools on display, that includes 2 RUPES Prototypes of the Duetto and the Mini

Last night we shipped these new Mark II polishers overnight to Mel Craig. He should be receiving both shipments at approximately 3:30pm Pacific time TODAY! When they are safe and sound he'll let me know as I think these are 2 of the very few here in the U.S.

So everyone that attends this first Roadshow Class will have the opportunity to test out Pinnacle compounds, polishes and coatings as well as the brand new Mark II RUPES polishers.

There’s a lot of exciting things that are going to take place in the year 2016 and now is the time to be connected. If you want to know when we’re coming to your town in 2016 then you need to be a member of the AGO forum and also like my Facebook page.

Cool, can't wait to here more about the Roadshow Classes!!!

McFly's 4x4 Truck! I though that truck was so cool back then, still do.

For everyone in SoCal attending this first Roadshow Class remember to either subscribe to this thread or like my Facebook page as I will update both this thread and my Facebook page at when this will start this coming Saturday, the 28th of November.

Remember.... I'm going to the funeral first, Mel is going, Nate the owner of the Marty McFly truck is going and we're meeting up with famous car builder, John D'Agostino who is a very close and personal friend of George Barris and the George Barris family.

The funeral starts at 10:00am. One of the speakers for this event is Barry Meguiar. I don't know who else will be speaking but my guess is this memorial funeral will last at least 2 hours. So we won't be back at Mel's shop till the afternoon.

Plan accordingly. My guess is we'll be starting around the 2:00pm to 3:00pm time frame. Maybe earlier but that's why I'm telling you now...

Watch this thread or my Facebook page for updates.

Also... just to note we're preparing the Marty McFly 4x4 truck for the Christmas Parade. I'm not sure if I'm going to go to the parade but if I do I'll get some pictures of it and all the Star Car Central cars in the parade.

Nate Truman, my friend and owner of the Marty McFly 4x4 truck is also owner of

StarCarCentral.com

Some of you may remember the 1966 Batmobile I worked on and also used for a Meguiar's TNOG while I was still working at Meguiar's. Nick Chapman actually flew in and was a part of my team for this Extreme Makeover as was Joe Fernandez, Derek Bemis, Kevin Brown and Jason Rose.

Nate also owns the Batmobile as well as other Star Cars. This will not only be a really fun event but a chance to do some great networking.

Hope to see a lot of people join us and I'm still working on getting a couple extra cars so everyone has a chance to play with the Pinnacle products and the RUPES Mark II polishers.

:)

Again a HUGE thank you to Mel Craig for opening his doors to Autogeek and this first Road Show Class.

Mel Craig has one of the nicest if not THE nicest detailing shops in California and even the United States. I know you're reading this thread today so seriously... thank you.

For everyone attending, here's what to look for on the outside....

Good to hear!

Just off the phone with Mel Craig and the truck owner Nate Truman and everything is on schedule for Saturday.

My guess is the funeral ceremony won't be over till noon or 1:00pm and then we have to fight traffic back to Hunntington Beach which Mel says will be stop-and-go traffic down the 405 freeway.

I will keep this thread updated throughout the day to let everyone know when Mel and I will return to the shop and the Marty McFly 4x4 project will begin.

:)
