Solution Finish Review Durability in Extreme Conditions

Well if you have to do all that, why not just skip it and go with UTTG, C4, or DLux to begin with?...

The sealants won't recolour the trim like SF does. Their only function is to protect the final outcome.

The black trims on my SUV had white stains. I have used Füzion on it and no more stains. I know it's a temporary step until I find the proper product to put on. It's not easy because
there is so much suggested produtcs on this forum that I'm totally confused. Some members suggesting SF, others DLux SF, C4, UTTG etc.... I look forward to to find the right product.
Johny.

Final Verdict... sorry it took me so long to update

As you can see, 1 month later the SF wore off. What I find interesting is that SF does not dissolve waxes, but rather covers them, as my white staining has reappeared.

Clearly, you must do prep before applying this product.

Now to do the test again with prep...

Interesting, that the final outcome is now perhaps only a temporary product, that seems to only hide previous staining.

I have interest in this topic, and I have recently acquired the GTechniq C4, and now wonder what results I might get on Black Trim such as Step Bumper Pads, and other Vinyl-Plastic Trim on my Chevy SUV?

Firstly, my Step Bumper Trim has been treated for years with OTC products like Armor All.

What should be used to strip these Silicone products from Trim?

Is there any such thing as a permanent Dye that could be used to restore color to black prior to applications of products like C4?

I know such Dyes would be of no help for folks who have grey Trim, or some other color trim. Mark

Scrub the trim with a water spot remover (CG) do a final wipe down with alcohol and apply your C4. You won't need a dye.

No pictures came through. Maybe its just my connection.
I am a Solutions Finish user. It hasn't made any noticeable difference that I can see, but I also wash & use HD Final Touch every Saturday, no matter the weather here in Central Oregon, because I wash my car in my garage when the weather is cold/rain/snow.

The page where I hosted these pictures has been deleted, here it is in condensed version:

Application: Put it on using MF applicator. Did not buff off because I wanted as much product as possible to bond to the trim. It is important to not that the trim I was using was textured trim and not smooth. Lots of people say this product does not bond well at all with smooth trim.

2 weeks later (after a few waterless washes):

1 month later (final):

Conclusion: Clearly, there is a reason they say prep is required. SF started to wear out after 2 weeks and fully wore off by 1 month. What I find interesting is that SF does not dissolve waxes, but rather covers them, as my white staining has reappeared.

Remember that this was done with no prep. I suspect that the outcome and results would be different with prep.
