I thought I had beat the odors in a vehicle I cleaned however it seems that they have returned. What are your tried and true cures for persistent odors?

Do you know the source? What have you done to the interior thus far?

Steam clean everything including headliner
Change cabin filter but also sterilize the HVAC System

I also tend to like using something like Armor All Car Air Freshener and Cleaner - Smoke X Midnight Air Fogger / bombs. There are a multitude of options but I've used these successfully without any complaints as a way of finishing off.

I'll add some tide plus with fabreze to my APC when cleaning the interior. I'll give the entire interior a thorough cleaning, including the headliner, I'll also use an extractor and steamer. My last step is to run an Ozone machine in the vehicle with the A/C system set on recirculate. This process will typically eliminate most odors.

I've started using Ozone from a generator I use on my hunting clothes. It's good enough to take the poopy diaper smell out of my son's room.

One caution: I understand that it can degrade certain materials like seat belts if used repeatedly.

If everything has been cleaned in the interior, I'll put baking soda into the carpets and then run the car with the AC on recirculate. I'll also check the cabin air filter.

If you are planning on spending the money on ozone, you might as well get a Hydroxyl Generator. Faster, safer and more effective (time) than ozone. I still occasionally use my ozone generator but the Titian I bought sees a lot more use.
