Some Duragloss Questions...

I know we have some DG experts here, so hopefully they will chime in.

I am going to be polishing my new vehicle with Essence in the next few weeks. While I have plenty of Megs on hand, I also have some DG products and I am hankering to use them. :)

After using essence and letting it "cure" for an hour, do you see a harm is using the DG 105/601 mixture as my lsp? If not, I will do that and then maintain with AW once a month and the AW/FC&S mix as my drying aid.

Additionally, 531 has me interested, as I am looking for a good product for my dash/leatherette seats. Has anyone had experience using this on interiors?

Using 601 and then 105 is one of the most durable sealants I've ever used and it has a great look. I've used CGs Jetseal, DP Surface Shield, Rejex, Zaino, Menz Powerlock, Blackfire, and 4 Star and none of those were as durable as the 601/105 combo.

601/105 Is GREAT combo. Not sure about how it will play over essence. Sorry.
 
I only used Essence one time, but if memory serves correct, it has cleaning abilities (as does 501), so I'm not sure how they will work together. If you access to Duragloss 111, I can highly recommend it, and it is a pure sealant.

No, Essence has light abrasives and durable resins that act like semi permanent fillers. It also acts like a primer for CQuartz. Many have used Essence with other coatings without any problems.

If you are talking about Essence Plus then yes it does have some SI02 which is a ceramic coating (5%) which as a stand alone LSP will not be very durable. Essence Plus was meant to refresh the base coating (CQuartz) without removing it.
 
Not an expert, but I've used a bunch of DG products (no 531-sorry!), unfortunately not over Essence, so I can't help you there. FWIW, DG105 has some cleaner content, but in my experience the cleaning qualities are very pad-dependent, so if you apply your 105/601 with a soft waxing pad, I'd doubt it would compromise the Essence base.
If you're using FCS/ AW as a drying aid, what proportions are you using? I've heard about that mix before and have gallons of both to experiment. I emailed Duragloss about the mix and never received a reply, so I'm curious what's working for you.

In my experience, i've found DG 105 to be a moderately strong chemical cleaner. It has a little bit warmer/deeper glow in comparison to DG 111. I prefer 111 on light colors and 105 on dark. But as mentioned, 111 is a pure sealant (no cleaning ability).

As far as topping Essence with 105/601... give it a shot and let us know how it works!! You're certainly not going to do any harm. The unknown variable here is how well it will adhere on top of the Essence (longevity). My guess is that it'll adhere just fine. Who knows, maybe it'll last 4 months instead of 6. It's also possible the 105/601 might remove some of the Essence. No harm there either. If you have a polish on hand, i'd simply use it instead of the Essence. And then finish with 105/601. If not, then go for your stated approach. It would be fun to hear of the results.

I'd give it a shot if I were you. 105/601 is a rock solid performer. One of my favorites.

You might want to take a look at Optimum Leather Protectant (AKA Protectant Plus). It was designed from the beginning for coated leather and vinyl so works well on the most used interior materials. Very easy to use, includes a light cleaner and leaves a matte non greasy finish. Been using it for years and never found anything better.
