Some GLAZE questions...

What about Klasse SG? It is an acrylic...and can carnauba be put on top of it?

I don't think you ever have to worry about if you can put carnauba on top of anything :p

Lauren is correct..as a rule of thumb glaze should not be used under a sealant.. due to the oils in the glaze sealants won't bond well with the surface.

For whatever reason the Wolfgang glaze is supposed to be sealant friendly.
I chose it for that reason and it worked great. It seemed to wet the paint
and make it look deeper.

By using the glaze over a sealant? What sealant did you end up using?

Sorry... I meant that you can seal over the Wolfgang Finishing Glaze with a
sealant. I did not make that clear. Some Glazes contain carnauba and that
would be a bonding issue for a sealant. I am not sure if some oils use in some glazes would be an issue. As I said. The Wolfgang FG advertised that it was
formulated so a sealant could be used on top of it.

It looks like the finishing glaze is applied right after the polishing. Then on top of that, you apply the sealant.

Sounds like the Wolfgang Finishing Glaze and the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant will be on my list for my next purchase!

I will tell you one thing - on dark colors, RMG + a quality carnauba like Natty's Blue, Max Wax, Souveran .. etc... will give you a finish with amazing depth

You have to see it to believe it, trust me

maybe I'm easily impressed, but still... the sheer wetness is undeniable!

question: Can I use two coats of glaze just as I would with wax.

I love Meg's #7. I like applying it, and I like that special undefinable something that it gives to the finish. I applied it to my car last week I topped it with Colly 845, which I have been using as my winter wax, and there is just something different, and better, about how the car looks. At least I think there is ... ;)

this post is over a year old :D and you cannot layer a pure glaze to my knowledge. Now a product like Klasse Glaze which is actually a paint sealant, then yes you could after curing. Gotta understand the product being used.

i will add this to the mix...

i generally try to keep the paint perfect, but have used glazes to hold me over... some cars i do for people get glazed when they dont have the time for me to do it right

blackhole is pretty awesome under a sealant

OrionZ06,

What is you take on using a carnubeau wax (Meguairs Yellow #26 to be exact) over the black hole glaze.

that is purely decided on surace prep... but as the swirls begin to show, the glaze helps some... it depends on the cc condition i imagine...

like i said, if the paint is perfect, dont glaze... the rest depends on how swirled it is if it is indeed swirled... i have used nattys over it, and it is awesome, but nattys blue in general is amazing for $20...

OK... You've answer my question and then some. Thanks for the PB Nattys info. I just order some.
I used the PB Black Hole Glaze on my hood and wow, so I cant wait to see the results from the Nattys. I'll need to upgrade my avatar picture ;)

awesome, but remember, as the finish improves, the ability ofthe glaze to alter the look diminishes...

so, are you saying the glazed look that I'm so in love with will go away with coat after coat after coat of the nattys or any other wax that is applied over time

the wax application may not harm the glaze, over application might, but the glaze doesnt bond or link like a sealant does and it is temporary... ive done a few motorcycles that are indoor stored (or course) and after 2 weeks of riding to/from work, the fairing wasnt nearly as wet as it was before... no rain, no bugs, just wind and sun...

but, the application of a glaze is far easier than the work to properly correct the finish, and far less expensive immediately, so there is a tradeoff...

i think you will also like the look of a prepped surface with wolfgang sealant and fuzion... its all in the effort you want to put into it, and the look you get out of that work...

Much appreciated. I think I got it, but take a look at my steps below and tell me if this is correct.

1.Poorboy’s World Polish with Carnauba (BLUE)
2.Poorboy's Black Hole Glaze
3.Poorboy's World Natty’s Paste Wax – BLUE

Now, if I were to use the sealant, I would skip the glaze because it doesnt bond correctly, right? The seal process would be the second process in place of the glaze if I chose not to glaze, right?

Sorry if my questions are redundat, but I wanna do this right and give the right advise when I'm asked these questions. Any other steops or advice would be appreciated.

I'd be curious to hear which sealant bonds with the poor boys BlackHole glaze. Preferable something in the poor boys product line, but if not.... please list.

thanks again

I'm no expert, but my guess would be the sealant would have bonding issues with your polish because of the addition of carnauba in the polish. I would think the order you already have would be the way to go. If you wanted to go with the sealant and skip the glaze, you should get a polish without any carnauba in it.
