It's not a sensitivity issue. It's really an issue of reason. The OP's idea was just not very reasonable. If the OP would have given it a bit more thought, he may have realized it was a bad idea. Taking into account profit margins and expenses (in this case shipping expenses) there wouldn't be a whole lot of profit left if Max offered free shipping with $20 dollar gift cards. If any.

you know what to the mods just close this thread its becoming something i did not want which is a ton of drama over something simple as a suggestion..maybe i worded my post wrong as i ment it more as a question of why this isnt done and why certain things are that way...not bashing autogeek at all as you should know how i feel about the shop......so i just want this thread to be closed obviously turning out to be very negative which does nothing for anybody. just no use in having this on the boards if people are over-reacting over a simple question/suggestion. so yeah please close this thread.thanks for your opinions.and you all know what opinions are like ;)

Matt, the way you worded your thread was friendly and fine. No worries, It was just your suggestion and your opinion... I agree with some of the others that it doesn't make sense for a business but no big deal. No worries, I'm sure nobody means anything by it. People just get excited sometimes.

Drama.... Or just the just backlash because people are reading about you just wanting a free handout?

Not to hijack, but to simply expand on the gift certificate thing and ask a question. If I have an order for say $100 to start, then use a $20 gift certificate, do I still get the free shipping? The order was over the 95 dollars, but after the gift cert I end up paying 80. Just wondering, I don't even have a gift cert to use, but asked for them for my birthday.
