Yup... and things like pulling over to get a Coke that was so cold, when you opened it up ice formed inside. Then grabbing that bag of salted peanuts and pouring half a handful into the Coke. Ahhhh those were the days.
Like seeing that road-side sign that says, "Ice Cold Watermelon-25 cents." I remember that one from a trip in '52.
Then there's just missing your Dad. It'll be 7 years this June, and 10 for my Mom (same exact day in June btw). Boy I don't know if I'll ever get used to that one.
I hear ya on that note. I lost both 45 years ago. There probably isn't a day goes by when there isn't something that reminds of my Dad.
Even though we never had any kids, I always maintained that if I could be just half the father my father was to me...the kid(s) would turn out OK.
