In the spirit if using the least agressive method to get the job done im curious what would fall between m105 and m205. #83 possibly?

Here are a few that I've used:

-Ultimate Compound
-SwirlX
-ScratchX

D300 is another good one. A tad more aggressive than ultimate compound.

I love this place, thnx ppl. 151 only in the gallon? Do you tend to go through it? Finishing quality?

I would also say I think M205 aggressiveness is pad dependent.

M205 is very versatile polish and it can be used for heavy compounding down to very fine finishing. Pad choice and probably most importantly technique will dictate the results you can get from it.

M86 if staying with SMAT oriented abrasives.

M02 for diminishing style abrasives.

M86 is a fairly thick product, reminiscent of SwirlX. It doesn't finish as nice as M205, but it could also be me. There was one instance this past fall where it was leaving a noticeable d/a haze even with a blue buff and shine polishing pad. I ended going with Menzerna PF2500 on that one.

M02 has been reformulated for use with a d/a machine. In comparison, this product is very wet, and it's easy to over use it. Doesn't seem to finish out as well as M205, but I might not have been running it through it's cycle enough. On lighter color cars, it's no problem.

or use a variety of pads depending on the desired cut. M205 is a great product, i have used it with a MF cutting disc to take out moderate swirls, Kevin Brown developed a water dilution to dial in the polish depending on the paint hardness.
