I was recently one of the lucky winners to receive a sample of the Son1c wax black wax. I have used carnubavore and phoenix wax in the past as well as a protowax from when Drew first started this awesome venture in to making wax. So I thought I would share my thoughts on his newest wax.
I received the wax in the mail the same day I had just done a rinse free wash with ONR. So the car was a clean surface for me. I just bought the GTI in March and have not had proper time to correct the car yet so keep this in mind as I share photos. I did clay the car to ensure a clean surface for the wax to bond to.
I headed out to my tiny little garage and opened the wax up in the 55* weather. Upon opening the wax I was greeted with the scent of black liquorice. While not my personal favorite scent it still was a good smell none the less.
It was then time to prime my red foam applicator pad. After a few swipes across the top of the wax my pad was loaded and ready to do the entire hood! This wax is very soft. With the small amount I had I managed to cover the entire hood with ease evenly and allow it to haze slightly. I chose to go with a plush towel for removal and boy was I not disappointed! This wax is THE definition of an easy to wipe off wax, by far the best Son1c wax I have used for application and removal!
I attempted to capture the haze on my phone camera. I applied a very thin coat and it worked wonders. With my car not being corrected I know it could look a whole lot better. To my surprise this wax brought out a TON of the metallic flake in my car that I could hardly notice before!
look at that deep black paint Im the MAN
Overall I am very impressed with this wax. Much like any carnuba I have used right after the car did want to collect dust but that is no fault of this wax. The application was effortless and used very little product and the removal was just as easy with both a plush and short knap towel. I will update with durability of this wax as I drive the car and see rain.
This was all that was used after doing my entire GTI. I could easily do several more cars.
And a few shots of the car outside in the sun to end the thread. As mentioned before I have not one bad thing to say about this wax.
Hope you all enjoyed! Feel free to ask any questions I may be able to answer!
