Son1c was awesome enough to send me a sample of some wax. Thanks Drew! so I figured I best get to writing a review and my thoughts on the product.

First impressions: When I opened the container of wax I was overtaken by the smell of some fruity candy like starburst. The smell was great and it had a redish pink color. The wax consistancy was fairly solid. Very similar to my pot of lusso Oro.

Prep and test subject: The test subject was to be a 2011 Chevy Malibu in Mocha brown. This car is a daily driver and is not fully corrected. I started with a good washing of the enitre vehicle then pulled it inside to dry and wipe down with IPA to ensure a clean surface.

Application: I decided to apply the wax with a small yellow foam applicator and removal with a chemical guys plush towel.

I rubbed the aplicator around on the wax to soften it and load up my aplicator. It did take a few spins to get some wax on the aplicator but after that it was one small dip in the pot to re charge it. I did feel like it was not spreading easily right away however after doing a panel or so it became much easier. And holy cow does a TINY BIT go a lonnggggg ways!

This is the pot before I started waxing

Thin layer applyed to the hood of the car

And this is after doing the hood! as you can see I used very little product

Removal: I applied the wax to several differnt panels (hood, trunk, rear quarter, front fender) When Applying and removing I did some wet on wet off and did some of letting it haze before removal. Overall I found the wax to work great as a wet on and wet off product. Removal was a breeze and left nothing behind. just a clean shiny surface!

but does it bead water? You bet it does! It beads like crazy! I sprayed some water on the hood and watched it bead up. and with another spray of water it all rolled right off the hood. It sheeted water extremly well. The surface may not have felt super slick but boy was water rolling off of it. Check these beading shots out.

Yep works great on the tails too

Overall impression: I felt like this was a very solid wax overall. It was easy to apply and easy to remove and that is a huge plus to me. The shine that it left on the car was a deep warm look on this mocha brwon with some metallic flake in it. The wax helped show that flake off a bit more as well. The beading and sheeting was some of the best I have had to date this was the most impressive part to me. I would only ike to see aplication be a tad easier. I would gladly buy a pot of this version any day:dblthumb2:

Thanks for taking the time to read!

forgot to mention I will be testing how durable this product is. It is on a daily driver that it washed only be me so I will know :D

Thanks for taking the time Jonathan!
The issue you experience with the top layer of the wax has had to do with my production method, with it the top layers of my wax would "solidify" (just a thin layer) as you noticed but after breaking through this layer you reveal the true wax
I literally cured this issue an hour or so ago

You'll also notice the slight sinking in the middle of your wax, as shown this was all solved today :D

I appreciate the constructive criticism, expected durability would be 2-3 months but no tests to confirm or deny that yet

I'm glad you enjoyed the wax and thank you for taking the time and putting forth the effort to provide a top quality review with pictures!

Drew

glad to see you keep improving on the wax! yes after the first layer was gone the wax spread much much easier.

I will keep you up to date how on durability doeson this car. I will also be trying it on my Yamaha R6 that is a metallic black

Wow , #38 Z ! How many different waxes did you do Drew ! lol

Looks similar to #38 R but could have some alternatives I guess .

Thanx for sharing LAtegeler . Great beading in there .

Awesome!! Nice review. Can't wait to try it and all other SON1C products.

Nice review- looks like a great wax!
Perfecting the art huh Sonic :xyxthumbs:

I did correct this truck about 3 months ago. But even after informing the owner on proper care he still enjoys just wiping it off after a drive. So you do see some swirls. The wax really helped show off some more metallic in this beautiful red/orange paint.

Oh and I have now done 3 hoods, a trunk and 4 fenders and part of a motorcycle and used hardly any wax!

Thanks for taking the time again jonathan! Glad you're enjoying it, that flake is great!

Wow , great pix mate ! #54 already ! when will you stop man ! lol

Top wax , what s the influences for your wax SONIC .

All the pictures have been snapped with my Galaxy 3. Love this phone lol. I will have pictures of the R6 on Friday when I pull it out of the garage and take it to a show

Wow , great results mate , you happen to wax it under the sun ! I can see it did nice reflections . Thanx for sharing , real nice bike , it must kick some ass right !

I did apply in direct sunlight to see how it performed. I applyed to the tank and let it be for a minute while a ran to the garage. When I came back to remove it came off just as easy as when I apply in the garage so that was great! Do note that the bike had only been in the sun for a few minutes so surface temp was not extremly hot.

And I do enjoy the bike very much every time I get the chance to ride it. Have never once regretted buying it

Thanx for the comeback mate . Nice ride .

Happy that the wax went well under sunlight , but as you wrote , paint wasn t that hot .
