Son1c 's Home Brew Carnauba Wax - ProtoWax -> Picture Heavy

interesting alternative effect on the trim, looks like you are making progress...

by the way; is #30 the Dodo Homebrew kit(in the background) or is it your own wax? because I know the DJ homebrew is green also

also next up should be the sonic saga wax... (like austintataious); with 3 layers; blue layer(sonic), red layer (knuckles), and yellow layer (tails)

just wondering; who's car are you testing these on? I've seen like several different ones, do you own them all or are they customers etc?

oh and just to add; I noticed you like to "test your wax" on CD's to see how they bead...but that does not really count as a true test or show anything really...I just took a brand new CD and sprayed it with my bottle and it beaded like yours, and wasn't waxed... wasn't sure if you knew that the plastic repels water already

ahhh you're getting me excited over here lol cant wait to see more tests and maybe soon a finished product :D

out class , salute to your effort , save 1 for me ;)
Thank you and I can do that :dblthumb2:

Mainly volunteering friends
I think that's an awesome idea haha, definitely a possibility down the road!
It's my own wax, near the dodo container, just happened to be one I colored green, I keep the tin around for inspiration
Yeah I was impressed with its performance on the trim, when I send out samples that's something I'd like to hear back on from the testers

Iirc I stated it's not an official test, if not my apologies! If you have some time ipa the cd and then tape line and 50/50 wax vs non waxed
The cd test is better for buffing practice / testing / hazing etc

Haha you and me both!
I appreciate the continued support!

Haha everyone be patient.

+1

I'd rather wait another 6 months and see Son1c deliver something mind blowing than have him rush a batch out a week after he started.

Keep it up Son1c, it looks like you're chugging right along

Some updates coming on this hopefully tonight! Latest picture posted on the Facebook page

Update 11

So much has happened with this since my last update, I'm now on ProtoWax 36 and the way this formula came to me was..just.. crazy.

I was on ProtoWax 34, still struggling with the buff off, laying awake in bed ingredients running through my head, wake up the next morning (prior to my alarm) and I just had an idea, something off the wall, a good stray away from my current leading ProtoWax --- created it, poured it, realized I was onto something but needed to alter an attribute, concocted 36 and poured, let it cool, have been testing ProtoWax 36 rigorously since. I am in love with it, I have almost achieved the wax I have been looking to create all along. Since ProtoWax 36's creation I have gotten into the hands of ~10 others and have all been fond of the wax

I had the opportunity to attend the Autogeek Member Detail Event on 6/29/13 and here are the results of Son1c Wax both vehicles were clayed, polished, and IPA'd prior to Son1c Wax application -- currently ProtoWax is a Wet on Wet off Wax --- with a cure time of ~15 minutes -- hope that makes sense :D if it does not simply ask and I will try to clarify further

Wet on -- Let haze for ~15 minutes

Buff off

Stay tuned and thanks for viewing :D

I guess you must be close to your final version right !
I actually believe I am, I've had a "break through" you could say imo lol :D
Haha everyone be patient.

Agreed! But I think I may be pretty close to cracking it ;)

Thank you I appreciate the positive support, seriously you guys make all of the difference.

man u gotta send one of those jars to try it on my blue vette

are u considering about production for these waxes or they still on test?

Nice to see you getting new ideas and improving your wax. Not sure if your wax is responsible for that silver charger, or if it was the detailer (probably you) that prepped it, but that car looks amazing (combination of polish and your LSP). Kind of sad to see you are "almost finished", as Son1'cs 38 or even 48 doesn't sound as cool as Son1c's 106. There is always room for improvement though, even after you found a wax that you are truly satisfied with. You can add to the scent, ease of use, durability, color charged, etc.

By the way, have you tried playing with the "very rare - Autogeek" Motan wax?

Excellent job! I mean, really, what more needs to be said...

I think all of us, at one point or another, have always wanted to create our own, proprietary wax blend with more white carnauba than anyone on the market while still maintaining a certain ease of use that modern formulas have.

On another note, I believe your comment regarding wanting to stay all natural is a very, very strong selling point. In today's day and age, natural products hold a premium as we start to care more about our health consequences and possibility of renewable sources of products. I think you could certainly carve out a nice niche by supplying 100% natural (organic? Who really knows what marketing you'll be able to have) wax.

Has anyone ever considered applying the wax while it is still liquid, right off the stove? There have been sometimes in the heat of the Texas summer or when I lived down in New Orleans that the wax would start to liquefy. I'm wondering if by heating the wax into a liquid and letting it harden on the paint before removal, if you can up the carnauba content without sacrificing the ease of use? Of course, this may be a terrible idea but, who knows, it may not be! It probably is but still, it would possibly be an interesting test...

Lastly, I look forward to the final, finished, really finished, I mean this is it, I'm done this it the one.... Product!
