Son1c 's Home Brew Carnauba Wax - ProtoWax -> Picture Heavy

Just did half the hood of my mother s Caddy which is kind of Met Gold ( Paragon Bronze Metallic Clearcoat ) & I must say the results are pretty impressive . The wax that SONIC sent me wax his 38 R batch which was pinkish colored & it smells great also .

It s a little bit on the tough side for me to spread but easy to buff off . The gloss & slickness is pretty great .

It looks like it s a very high end wax to me , definitively a keeper .

Keep it on Drew , it s great on my end .

Almost forgot : a little goes a long way .

Update 25

Research and designing

Some are asking how to apply the 38 tests that are out -- apply thinly, allow to cure for 5-10 minutes (basically work a panel a at a time) and then lightly mist / spritz your microfiber with a quick detail ( don't see why a waterless wash wouldn't work and distilled water may work as well but has not been tried)

Let me explain why, this wax is heavily infused with natural oils and natural polymers (along with other natural ingredients and waxes) however everyone is used to petroleum based waxes as probably every single wax you have used is

The trade off for an all natural wax? the natural solvents are slow to evaporate as opposed to synthetic / petroleum solvents that evaporate sometimes rapidly

Simple solution? light mist / spritz of your microfiber with a detail spray etc and issue solved, a spritz per panel should solve

Would this be an issue to you as a consumer? Please let me know as your feedback is critical to Son1c Wax development and everyone's opinion matters

Aside from all of that, research has been progressing steadily!

I would say for the more advanced detailer such as most found on a detailing website not at all. If the results are worth it and explicitly directed on the container (or even packaged with say a 4oz spray bottle) I wouldn't have any issue with it.

Now for the average car owner who guys into Autozone, etc... I don't think it would work for, but then again they won't be looking for it anyways.

+ 1 on af90 s comment here .

Gee wax # 50 already ! You work too hard mate !

I agree with this. With the testing I have done so far with 38Zs, it removes very easily with ONR. At first I just wasn't aware of this, and tried my best dry buffing to no avail.

As a consumer, not us, but lets say average joe shopper who stumbles on a site like AG, perhaps a damp towel wipe off might stumble them, as silly as that sounds. But just throwing that out there! :)

Looking good, love the color of the wax. I don't know why I love the color of waxes, silly I know.

I know there is some wax that comes with a qd for simplifying removal. I'm pretty sure Migliore suggests a spritz to help removal

It s something that I guess is needed with this wax , but you ll have some great results with Sonic s Wax . He doesn t stop developing his Wax here . Keep it on SONIC .

Are you at # 54 right now SONIC ! It was that prototype that you were up to I guess .

testing and tuning! thanks for taking the time to test and provide feedback

Thanks for the input chris, and why not? you should ideally like the color, as one doesn't buys a colored car to their taste!
Wait till you smell it :props:
haha :D ;)

Wasn't aware of that, I would like to try one of their waxes some time

This will only be needed with my natural waxes, my synthetics are buffing off cleanly and behave much more like traditional waxes in that regard !

yes I am :D I'm in love with it thus far, ProtoWax 53 is a synthetic strand that is coming along very nicely, but ProtoWax 54 is a refined version of 38 essentially, and I'm loving it so far, having a few others test it tonight

Wow , great Drew !

I m not a pro with waxes but I m getting there slowly mate ! lol

But I wont homebrew mine , too much work ! lol

Keep it on mate .

One question SONIC man , what are your synthetics &/or natural waxes mate , #s wise . so 38s must be all natural then real quick .

Just waxed my mother s CTS with some #38R , great results , did buffed it off with some Sonax BSD spreaded lightly on mf towel, it was easier that way than the first attempt .
