SON1C Synopsis 3 - Chemical Guys - Blacklight and V7 ( a double feature! )

it basically is a qd, so yes, you only need to clay usually 1-2 times a year if that

as for bl as an aio and machine application, I have seen some great results with it being applied on speed 4 and 6

@1511 it looks great!

Speed 4 and 6 with what pad?

I used a Hexlogic black finishing pad as recommended by chemical guys

I had the same feelings after doing BL / V7...nothing wrong at all with the BL, but the V7 seemed extra special.

I'm wondering how V7 compares to Optimums Spay Wax. They sound kind of similar, except C7 has no nuba. What do you think?

I have some OCW and it is altogether different than V7. First off, OCW has the thicker "spray wax" consistency. So it applies differently that V7, which applies more like a QD. V7 gives more of what I would call a synthetic pop, whereas OCW gives more of a warm glow. Both are great, but quite different, IMO.

What speeds would you BL users suggest for a PC7424XP user? If you want correction from it, would you use a white pad?

I would use speed 4-6 and a light polishing pad for me that'd be a blue pad

Thanks for the reply.

I am about to order some Blacklight and V7 but I "read" to layer Blacklight well, the first application should be machine to use the fine abrasives and the second layer should be by hand so the second layer will not take off the first one.

That's my plan of action =D

And I will top it off with a paste nuba of some kind just for that extra step.

Honestly I think that's a waste of time you'll be fine with one application :xyxthumbs: and I'd highly suggest topping with Pete's 53

Ah good to know!

So you'd recommend a machine application. I have a PC so I'll do speed 4-5 with a finishing pad, then a layer of nuba. I have some souveran paste which I want to use. I got it way back when autogeek had bogo on it.

I did my daily driver, 2010 ford fusion sport blue. black light and v7 by hand. The color and shine it added, is actually insane. I was blown away. Once I topped it off with wax, I couldn't stop staring at the car.

This weekend I am going to do my mustang with blacklight, butter wet wax and then v7.

BL + carnuba wax + V7 is a combo Ive yet to see surpassed. Oh and BTW it is so easy to duplicate to get consistent results on just about any paint. Thats key in my book. Consistency with ease of use.

How long of durability would you say that you get from the blacklight + nuba + V7 combo? Does the effect of the glaze (blacklight) wash off after like 3-4 washes? Or does the awesome look that you get from this combo stay on the vehicle for a while? Just wondering because I've heard that the glazes are easily washed off after a few washes, but I don't really know if that's right...set me straight, will ya? :)

I'm sure that will come out great make sure to post a couple pictures :xyxthumbs:

I'd really say durability depends on your wax, so I'd imagine 3 monthsish a lot of factors come into play, could stretch it out another month with v7 after every wash assuming you wash every other week

bump for v7 being in my opinion the best quick detailer / spray sealant

Agree. I've used v7 after several different waxes. Works great on all. But works fantastically after Souveran.
