Last weekend I finally had the opportunity to try out and test Son1c's new Protowax 93. I've been a supporter and fan of his waxes since he first started releasing them. Today I will be comparing Protowax 93 to Carnaubavore.

First things first I cleaned the wheels and tires and then washed and clayed the car. After that was complete I performed a light correction via HD Speed. This removed the minor swirls and scratches and added some gloss to the paint. I wasnt expecting there to be much more improvement over the look of the car with the wax but I was wrong.

Like all off Son1c's waxes a little goes a VERY long way, it smells delicious (cherry starburst) and makes for a pleasent experience when waxing the vehicle. I primed the pad with his wax upon each panel. It will haze within a few minutes. Application and removal were both a breeze...MUCH MUCH improved from Carnaubavore IMO. With Protowax 93 i didnt have to spritz it with a QD to aid in removal as I have to with Carnaubavore. Also application is a little smoother thanks to the buttery soft texture of 93. Its a soft wax but not mushy and one swipe with your finger across with it and it just melts! The biggest improvement I got from this wasnt any more gloss....that pretty much stayed the same from using the HD Speed but the depth/richness and flake pop it created was fantastic! I would say you have a homerun Drew!

Thanks Jake! After using HD Speed I'm a believer!

Were you able to do the whole car with the small sample pot?

Yes. A little goes a very long way. I could easily do 4-5 cars with that sample pot.

Great review Caleb. I got the same results you did with ProtoWax 93. Did HD Speed play well with Protowax 93? I might use that combo soon on the Audi TT thats coming in on sat.

Thanks Aaron! Yes Protowax 93 played very well will HD Speed. You should try that combo, it wont disappoint :buffing:.

Hey Caleb thanks for taking the time to put this all together! Love the review and ecstatic you love the wax :D

Glad you put it through a machine application as well as most apply by hand (usually including myself!)

HD Speed is AMAZING! It is basically like Meguiars D151. Its an AIO product that will correct light to moderate defects while polishing and adding a layer of wax for protection. I love the stuff and it saves me so much time on light correction details for customers. I cant do a review of it on here because it isnt sold by Autogeek.
