poor Iphone pic (and used an Instagram filter to get the water beeds to stand out a bit for clarity, as it's hard to see on white)

This is with just ONR wash about 4 months ago, and Sonax Brilliant Shine quick detailer applied about 2 weeks ago. (NO waxing or anything done after that ONR wash 4 months ago.) - Recently just dusted it off with a California duster, and applied Sonax detailer right after that. (Terrible detailing ethics, I know - but I was so curious to see what the Sonax BSQD would do...): for just a QD, I think it did ok...

I think it would have done MUCH better if I had applied it right after the ONR wash...

And this is one I took today:

Very quick spray with Auto Finesse Citrus to get mud/rain spots out, wipe, and then Sonax Brill. Shine. Done in like 10 minutes...
Not bad reflections for a WHITE car I think... (This one i took with a DSLR -the 'smudge' is sensor dust)

It looks pitch black....what filter did you use on that one?

no filter - Nikon d40 - kit lens 18-55 - in P mode-no flash - inside garage with side door open - the darkest part is the reflection of the door.

By the looks of it I wonder if this is not really a spray wax rather than a true QD.

Wow, that thread at Detailing World has to be the longest in QD discussion history - 67 pages! That is a lot of talk about just a quick detailer, no matter how good it is. Here is my opinion: if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck - its a duck. And this is obviously a spray wax or sealant. Everyone is talking about how well it beads and holds up under all conditions, just like when discussing a spray wax/sealant, but no one talks about its cleaning power which is an important element of a true QD. Some of the users at that thread are saying it is difficult to clean even bird bombs with it so I question its effectiveness in cleaning. There are a few of the users saying this could even be used as an LSP, much as they say OCW could be an LSP if used frequently.

I think there are a lot of products out there that if they were relabeled as a "Quick Detailer" instead of a spray wax/sealant (such as AquaWax and OCW, eg) would also be considered as a revolutionary kind of "QD". I guess my point is in what way is the Sonax different from these other products that are labeled something other than a "QD"?

Sonax is one of the few car-care, or chemical, companies that has no qualms about registering
some of their: If the shoe fits-products...with: "The Project on Emerging Nanotechnologies".

Perhaps what may cause the purported chasm between most other QD's, and this particular 'Brilliant-one' from Sonax,
is that it may be bordering, even teetering, upon that fine-lined, nanotechnology-edge.

Hope so.
Hope it's like: Sonax's Nanotechnology Liquid Wax...a Brilliant product itself!

Well I have to agree with what Shortspark said.

This 'qd' had no cleaning power whatsoever. On my white BMW, on the last occasion (reflections pic) SBS was applied AFTER a simple, but effective quick cleaning with Auto Finesse Citrus, and wiped dry, so the surface was already clean...
On the other occasion (water beading) no cleaning was done immediately prior to applying Sonax to the hood, but the car has been in the garage after an ONR wash...so it none/very little dirt on it - clean surface pretty much.

On my wife's Mazda i tried it one time on a slightly dirty/dusty surface and it made a mess - did not clean the grime/dusty areas OR bird poo - felt like I was waxing more than applying a QD - the stuff is THICK too, almost milky. I stopped immediately and used AF Citrus and water to clean it - never thought to repeat Sonax on that occasion..

My other 2 QDs i had, Poorboys'QD and Meg's Ultimate QD, BOTH are able to clean such slightly dirty surfaces and give it some shine. No cleaning with Sonax though... however, the shine and depth the Sonax gives on a clean surface seems much more impressive and durable and effective at beading water than the other 2 'normal' QDs I mentioned - So I am ok with giving a quick wipe with AF Citrus and using this to get this great result...

so yeah this looks more like a quick wax/selant type of thing now...a good one though -

however, naming it a QD is rather iffy I think, as one NORMALLY expects some cleaning ability with a QD.

Just another pic which might show better that it's indeed a white car: :)
despite lack of cleaning ability, I think this is going to be my "QD" for the future...

do you know if the "Sonax extreme brilliant shine qd" is the same as the non-extreme?

I read a lot of that 80 page thread that was posted and I just ordered a bottle. I am going to test it against Wolfgang DGPS and Klasse SG just for fun.
