SONAX CC36 Ceramic Coating Now Available

So is it a year or up to 36 months? In this video Jason states up to 36 months

Hopefully since this product is finally available the product page will get updated on the recommended prep. I've been waiting for this product to come out!

Has anyone information if this will be enough for 2 cars or just 1?

Love sonax products but I'm not into using a two step process. From sonax have no doubt it's not a inferior product.

I was going to go with this but during the Christmas sale it wasn't out and I went with Wolfgang Uber. I'm sure this product is going to be a great one and given a chance by many to shine....pun intended.

Has anyone tried it out yet? Any pics? Looks like application would be foolproof.

"...a moderate level coating."

Geared toward consumer side rather than pro. Agreed with above; looks to be foolproof. The second step would surely take care of any high spots.

Would it be enough to push BSD/PNS fans to leave the combo is to be seen.

I have no issue with a 2-step process. Both are WOWO. What really interests me is 1 hour cure time after the 2nd coat. This is potentially a game-changer for people like me where keeping a coating warm and dry for 24 hours is a challenge, and for more than 24 hour is nearly impossible outside the summer months.

I was starting to wonder what happened to this product. We saw it SEMA and then...nothing...

I'd like to get a good answer on this too! 36 months, or even 24, of durability will put it right in the hunt with many reputable products. For me to be interested, the 12 months would have to be a sure bet rather than one of those, "in the right conditions" types of statements. I'd be happier with 18~24.

Good question. While the cans appear to be only 2.5oz, the aerosol delivery should be pretty light. Hopefully you can get more than one. MK37 or PBL are spray's and you get 4~5 cars out of their 4oz bottles.

Same here on both counts. If the application is easy enough, I'd probably be OK with two steps. The cure time is nice as daily drivers can never sit for 24 hours around my house. Often even 12 hours can be a stretch depending on the timing.

Something else I noticed while digging for a little more info on this product is the lack of a prep product in this kit.

When you go to Sonax's professional (non-US?) page, they clearly show a can of a prep product in both the inventory list and the pictures of the kit. However the kit shown here at AG and even Sonax USA's site shows the same kit minus the can of prep product. I wonder why there is a difference? It's not like coating prep products are hard to come by, and I'm sure any will work just fine, it's just odd that the "global" kit differs from what we have available.

Hello all. First, apologies for taking so long to get this product in the US, but we think you'll find it was worth the wait! We have sent out 15 kits to some of our trusted detailers to use, review and post. We thought the results would be better coming from a user vs a seller! Now to answer a few questions:

1. It will last 1 year without further treatment. If you combine with SONAX Polymer Net Shield (6 mos protect, applied every 6 mos), the Ceramic Coating will last 36 months. All of this, of course, dependent on your climate and application.
2. The aerosol can that comes with the Euro version is only a paint cleaner. As our US product states, paint needs to be clean and swirl free.
3. While this product is perfect for the DIY user, it is perfect for the mobile detailer who may not have access to lights/ventilation required with other Ceramic Coatings.

Thanks to everyone for their continued support of the SONAX brand in the US! We truly appreciate you, your comments and photos.

Thanks for the information!

Once this coating is applied, what QD product should someone use for things like post-wash water spots, bird bombs, random smudges, etc, Brilliant Shine Detailer?

SONAX Brilliant Shine Detailer is the perfect product for quick clean up in between washes!

Thanks for the responses Davis, can we get a word on how many cars will this kit do?

Not trying to pick on Sonax or LADavis, but if i have to put a sealant over a coating every 6 months, why am I using a coating? Would would I not just use a sealant every 4 to 6 months?

Kind of like saying if I have to get my teeth cleaned every 6 months, why wouldn't I get dentures? JK I see your point. The PNS simply maximizes the coating. It also gives mobile detailers the ability to convey continued car care. For example, while the coating was still in trials, I used it on my Mercedes. It lasted 24 months without any additional sealants or wax. I'm in Indiana and the car is a daily driver (as long as there's not snow) and is garaged.

As to the other questions, 1 kit does 1 car.

Thanks for the conversation! Love all the questions so please keep them coming!

PNS does not need to be applied immediately but in 6 months. However, if you'd like to top with PNS, 24 hours is more than enough time.

So, I still need to hear more about the proper prep. Assuming a proper polish is done, then is a cleaner of some type needed?
