Took advantage of the nice weather these last two days to catch up on some much needed polishing on Rocket. (My '13 Juke.)

I hadn't really polished and waxed since October, just doing my Uber waterless as needed. The Collinite 845 was holding up beautifully, but I wanted to catch the swirls I had missed before and refresh the protection.

It still had some decent gloss, as Collinite is great stuff..

But it obviously needed some attention.

I'll spare the details of every single step, suffice to say, 2BW, decon, rinse, agitate, tumble dry, etc.

I used Buff and Shine orange pads with HD Polish+ over the whole car, then did something new before applying the Sonax NPS with a foam applicator, I made sure the paint was squeaky clean with Prep-All aerosol paint prep. (I'll be ordering Griot's Pain Prep with my next AG purchase.)

Pardon the lack of photos during the application process. Contrary to some of the other posts I"ve read, it was very easy. I sprayed the product on the applicator, and did small sections (3 x 3 at the largest) waited a minute or so, then buffed with a 500 gsm MF towels. NPS buffed nice and easy, and left behind a killer shine. I did keep moving the car to remain in the shade as I work outside, and had no problems.

I finished around 8 PM last night, and let the PNS cure until about 5 PM today before testing it with some water. I can't believe how hydrophobic this product is. I'll be doing all of the external trim with it after I get around to cleaning. Just really impressed, and looking forward to seeing how long it lasts. Rocket lives outside, drives daily to work, and occasionally will drop into sport mode and ignore a speed limit or two.

Excellent Gloss

I'll update with longevity and application to the trim. 24 hours later, I'm really loving the look and eager to see how it behaves in tomorrow's expected rain. I already have Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer and will be using it for maintenance as well.

Nice job. PNS is a fantastic sealant! There QD, BSD is great as well.

Follow up question..

I really like the hydrophobic properties of Sonax Polymer Net Shield and know that waxing on top of it can cloud the gloss (particularly carnauba based), as well as provide no real benefit.

When it comes to washing, I usually use CG Citrus, Meguars Ultimate Wash and Wax, or Zymol. (Foam cannon, two bucket.) Since the Ultimate W&W is also polymer based, will it enhance, hinder, or have no effect on the PNS

Otherwise, I prefer my trusty Wolfgang Uber mixed as waterless.

Will the Ultimate W&W leave behind cloud the NPS?
Should I use one of the others?
Should I buy some Deep Crystal or Gold Class?
Or am I overthinking this and should just wash my damn car with any of them, and we all just get on with our lives?

As always, thanks in advance.

Jim

I doubt that Ultimate W&W would cloud the appearance.

Look into something like Meguiar's Hyper Wash if you are looking for a wash that leaves nothing behind.

I've experienced the gloss enhancers in gold class to mask the properties of an LSP. Deep Crystal is an entry level soap that is ok but not great. You can try deep crystal until you get something better.

But yeah just wash it and enjoy.

Thank you, Guz! I swear, I almost PM'd you this question earlier today.

I'll probably put Hyper Wash on my next AG order (watching for free shipping). Until then, either UW&W or the Zymol it will be.

You rock!

Nice job Jimmy. Did you notice that PNS is not slick like other sealants? Love the beading, but I like the feel of a just waxed car.

Thank you, and yes I did. It reminded me of the McKee's glass coating I used last year. A little grabby at first, but the Sonax was very easy to buff. I wish I would have tried this sooner.

Thanks for sharing that fantastic beading shoot.
i notice it also works great on plastic and rubber trim.

Not to crazy about it.used it once or twice I see no benefits to this product against others.

I have used it but not often. Thanks for the reminder that I need to use this on customer cars more often.
