What are you working on tonight?

:dblthumb2:

Nice setup. I notice you mostly use a single LSP (when not using a coating). In other words, your not into "topping".

I'm wondering, I know adding a sealant before a wax can increase the durability of the LSP generally, but do you feel there is a difference in the look when applying a wax alone, opposed to using it over a sealant ? In other words, does applying a sealant under a wax improve the look of the wax?

Looks like an exciting time Mike! Sonax finishing polish is nice and smooth

All I can say, they are really lucky whose cars are getting detailed tonight :)

I was into topping before the term topping was a term...

Back before the Internet, so that means back before most of the brands we all know and talk about, all the cars I detailed were multi-step, rotary buffer projects and after all the machine polishing steps I would seal the paint with M20 and the re-seal the paint or "top" the paint with a coat of M16. I've probably used as much and in some cases more M16 than anyone still living.

Now days, I mostly just apply a single application of "whatever" the LSP is were using, and then leave the second coat as well as maintenance up to the owner.

Nothing wrong with topping as long as it's done correctly and "yes" I've done my fair share of topping...

Good question...

:)

looks like you folks are goin to have a blast:dblthumb2:

Where was my invite? Oh well ,Pa. Is to far anyway. Man I miss living in Florida !

Mike, that looks like the dreams I have where there's endless amounts of

detailing supplies of the highest qualities!!!!

Interested to see this project especially the use of those claying towels since I wanted to learn about them. Is there going to be a video on this?

It's always fun... part of the reason though is because we tend to work on cool cars in the first place and that makes it more fun...

There's always an open invitation to all our forum members and lurkers that live withing driving range... See this article,

How to find out if there's a Thursday night project going on?

My job is fun and I'm always thankful... lately we've been having close to 20 guys show up for the Thursday classes, both cars and boats now and I find it easier to set all the microfibers, products, pads and tools out across a few tables to make these projects easier to manage.

In for some big job in there fella !

Yes, very big classic hot rods... and they came out looking great! See the link at the bottom of my reply...

There's only the "after" video I shot to show how clear and glossy the paint came out on both cars. I'll upload it on Monday, didn't have time on Friday...

By the way, the projects that all the pads, products and tools were laid out for and that you see in the first page of this thread is over...

It was this one...
