Sonax Polymer Net Shield

I got 6 coat for a sedan size. I also spray the left over from the aerosol to mix with BSD in spray bottle :p

How'd that work out? Did it noticeably improve BSD's performance? TIA

It work great sir, I use it as drying aid after pressure wash and 2 bucket method. It's like constantly layering a little SPNS on top :)

For those of you that have used Collinite how would you say PNS compares with it ? which do you prefer ?

From what i've read PNS seems to wash the dirt of your car more. I'm loving the sheeting ability of PNS but wondering if using a waffle weave drying towel on dry paint is a bad idea ?

I would damp the towel 1st before touching the paint if necessary.

Collinite 845 is nice but it doesn't hold up at my location. SPNS works great for me even compare to coatings. Things might be different for your climate :)

PNS is definitely a notch or two above traditional waxes or sealants. I've never had one of those offer anywhere near its level of dirt shedding ability or durability (that said, while I've used many LSPs, I haven't used them all). After a day or two of driving through rain soaked roads, the car ends up almost looking clean! Road grime seems to just run down off the sides. It's pretty impressive. It can't repel road salt spatter, of course, but nothing will I guess.

The only disappointment in performance is that PNS is not resistant to certain types of water spotting (i.e., they're not easily removed). My car's rear bumper is directly above the hot mufflers, so that area is susceptible to water spotting. They must either be polished off with an abrasive product (not good on a semi-regular basis) or chemically removed. I recently purchased CarPro Spotless. Hopefully that will remove them.

Looking at trying Gyeon can coat in the future looks to be the same as sonax pns but is infused with silica like a coating and is chemical resistant

I tried it this past October, and after washing my cars yesterday, I think it is entirely gone. If this is the case, I will stick with Collinite. Past winters have seen Poorboys Polish with Sealant to clean and prep paint, then 1 coat of 845, followed by 1 coat of 476 (885 actually, but the same stuff), and that has lasted me all winter. This fall, I used HD Polish to clean, then Car Pro Eraser to wipe down, followed by 2 coats of PNS 24 hours apart. Even using the PNS special applicator it was a pain to use. To each their own I guess.

Another over hyped product; glad I didn't purchase, thank's for your honesty!:xyxthumbs:

I just finished my PNS and thinking not to purchase again due to cost (75USD) per can. I stick with BSD :p

I'm surprised about the reported poor durability. I cleaned the body panels with Klean Strip Prep-All and then applied PNS. I got very good durability on two cars. It could be environmental differences which affect products differently. I'm in the NE.

Kris I find that using a MF towel and apply the PNS to the towel then spreading over the panel works much better than the applicator.

This method will allow you to use less product and have less waste.

Additionally you can apply a second coat or more 1 hour after the first initial application.

Just because a couple of people report poor durability, does not mean over-hyped. Every detailing product I have seen has at least somebody giving a bad review. There could be many different reasons ranging from troll that is a brand "X" fan boy to somebody that has done everything properly and tried thier best to like it but had some unforseen environmental factor. I for one have experienced more durability than anything I have ever used. The beading is insane. Mine is nearing the 4 month mark and is still working great. One vehicle is washed a couple of times per week and I use Sonax BSD while drying every two or three washes. The other vehicle was sealed with PNS and hasn't been touched since application. Both still bead like crazy.

Thank's Smitty, now I've got to try it. and see for myself.:dblthumb2:
