I think the lack of responses is mainly due to the lack of familiarity with the SONAX product you've outlined and maybe even the entire line. Personally, I've never used anything from this line so again, no actual experience here.
I did do some research and none of the following tire products are advertised to contain silicone.
Pinnacle Black Onyx
Wolfgang Black Diamond Tire gel
DP Gloss Tire Gel
Optimum Opti-Bond tire Gel
thx for the feedback and looking into those products for me. I do appreciate the time you took out to do so.
As for the Sonax line, I think its unfortunate that the line is not being pushed very hard, but it is what it is. There products are top notch imo. Everything I have used has been fantastic.
About the silicon, the germans have some different terminology than what we are used to. In the US a lot of customers are turned off by the work "silicone" on product descriptions, but the reality is that it is in about 99% of all the products used that dont mention it.
I looked into the Sonax Tire gel and was told it will not brown tires. But I will not take this for granted and plan to test this out myself. I am hearing that this is one of the best tire gel products on the market and is completely water proof and will not run or drip when wet. we shall see.
Some product that I think are top notch from Sonax, more effective than there competitors, and I would highly recommend to others are -
- Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner - Expensive, but works faster, with less agitation than P21S and is just as safe on all finish's. I have not found a better, safer product at this point. AFTER COMPLAINTS SONAX HAS CHANGED THE FORMULA AND IT NOW SMELLS HEAVILY OF LEMON SCENT. No more chemical smell.
- Sonax Dashboard Cleaner. - Cleans and Seals both hard and soft touch materials. More diverse than the product name describes. You can use it everywhere on the interior except glass and carpet. Cleans as well as 1z cockpit, and has better protection as you can tell it kind of is a sealant in the way it looks, last and feels on the soft touch interiors (like Audi and VW use all over the interior).
- Sonax Premium Class paint cleaner - Very potent paint cleaner, could potentially be classified as a finishing polish if it was not for the degreasing effect. Chemical and abrasive polish. And actually works on scratch resistant clearcoats (which is surprising), even by hand. funky consistency though, and a little goes a long way.
- Sonax Carpet and Upholstery cleaner - extremely effective. Lots of surfactants that you can visually see lifting and suspending dirt out of the carpet. But pretty tough to buy in the small 500ml bottle it comes in as its easy to overuse the product.
- Sonax High Speed Wax - if it was not for the scent of the Optimum Spray wax, I would not be able to tell these products apart. The only difference is that Sonax claims to use nano technology for the carnuba particles to stay small and stable in the formula. They claim that these small carnuba particles are more effective at penetrating the pores of new clear coat paint systems. pretty tough to test those claims, but it works well and is one of there products that is priced competitively.
- Sonax Leather Foam - Amazing !!! Love this one. I have put all of my other leather products on the upper shelf. Those include the Leathermaster's trio kit, 1z leathercare, and OPT Protectant plus. Lots of lifting cleaners, very foamy, Matte finish or very low gloss. It cleans as well as the Leathermaster cleaners which surprised me. And uses a beeswax for conditioning. The thing I love most about this leather care product is the way it makes the leather feel after using it. Its tough to explain , but the leather has a nice matte kind of glow to it, and feels super soft and smooth. This is a product where pictures cant describe how great of a product it is.
At the moment I have the Sonax Tire Gloss gel to test , as well as the Premium Class Carnuba WOWO wax.
If you guys have followed my posts, i'm sure you can tell by now that I love testing out German products as all of my cars except one are from Germany. :dblthumb2:
The problem with Sonax and most other imported products is there final pricing. IMO
