I think you meant Sonax ... it works well and cool color changing too. You can however find suitable replacements like P21S and Griots.

I posted a Thread and did a test a few month's back (CG Diablo -vs- Sonax). The Sonax did cut thru brake dust much better.
The Sonax wheel cleaner does work very good with light dirt/brake dust, for heavy brake dust build up you will need to use aggitation to remove.

You didn't say what kind of wheels your cleaning. If your considering polished wheels,
I have not used it on uncoated polished aluminum (not sure if it's safe to).

If you don't mind putting a little muscle behind a wheel brush, there are some decent wheel cleaners out there for less money.

As killrwheels mentioned,it does have a cool (changes color) factor:
Spray's on green and changes to blood red when it starts to clean.

Re: sonic wheel cleaner

But comparing diablo to sonax is like compare water to hand soap. Diablo does nothing but foam, no cleaning power and only smells good.

Like kilerwheels say, if you are brushing anyway you can spend much less money on something either concentrated down to dilute or you can use shampoo. If your wheels are so bad that agitation with brush doesnt help, then most timne you probably need something beyond sonax anyway.

EDIT: Other forums get sucked into hype on this cleaner, but while it is good, it is no better than anything else for maintenance cleaning. It can clean heavily dustywheel but fails and the hardend crusty baked dust..

Re: sonic wheel cleaner

Wheel cleaners is actually something you dont have to go so expensive on. In general, i suggest letting the product settle. Apply to all 4wheels and tires, then brush them, then, rinse. Dont do one tire at a time! Results should be pretty good. The autogeek video on this subject makes an important point of also washing the TIRES also. Sonax is overpriced.

Re: sonic wheel cleaner

It figures that this thread came up one day after placing an order for 4 500 ml of this stuff (found them on sales for buy 3 get 1 free).

Oh well, I've been wanting to try it for awhile. May end up being one of those items I throw up for sale at a later date if I decide I don't like it.

Oh I think you will like it. The only problem is the awful smell. Anyways it sounds that you got a good price. I personally only use it if my wheels are really dirty. Most of the time I can get away with just soap.

Re: sonic wheel cleaner

Yeah I'm not really too concerned. Like I said worse case I sell a bottle or two if I don't like it. My wheels don't usually have the chance to get really dirty, but I do have some customer's who wheels get really bad. I was thinking that this might help me out with those.

Re: sonic wheel cleaner

So what do you guys suggest for heavily baked on brake dust? I can't stand not being able to get hardened brake dust off people cars.

And to the quote about all 4 wheels at a time--I have polished/billit aluminum and if I don't wash them one wheel at a time then the stuff dries on and leaves marks and its a pita to polish them after that!!
