Sound dampening material

Wow I had no idea that people did this :dunno: what is the main purpose of doing this?? Engine noise, road noise, exhaust noise, Nick mentioned higher sound quality? Sounds pretty cool. As for me i put a Roush off road exhaust on my F-150 and I love to hear it :D

Noise? Isn't the noise heavenly? By noise I'm assuming you mean the sweet reving sounds of the engine tempered by that mean exhaust...

when I rev my car it sounds a little high pitched and whiney (from the inside at least)

Noise, as in freeway noise not necessarily exhaust noise. I actually dont mind the exhaust noise. However, when I am driving 30 mph or am on the freeway I can hear too much road/freeway noise from the front wheels. I think I may dampen the wheel wells/fenders and the door. I've been reading these are the best spots to reduce the noise in my car when driving.

Less road noise means improved stereo sound quality and rattle elimination.

My purpose is to deaden the road noise to improve sound quality in aftermarket stereo speakers, etc.

I had an old big block corvette once and if I had known about this product it would have been worth the cost....by far. The noise and engine heat would run you out.

Exhaust droning was one of the main reasons I did it. It makes a big difference is audio quality for audiophiles. The big negative is it adds weight to the vehicle for those who are into performance.

The weight is not really that bad IMO. Unless you are building a track car, I see no problem with the little weight it does add, to block some of the road noise. I just add more HP! LOL

It made a big difference in my car. I plan on doing more of it this summer.
