Souveran Alternatives?

I'm using Pinnacle Souveran over WG sealant on my Camaro. I like the ease of application and the car really shines. Looking at the store I see Chemical Guys Project J97 but at $999 that's waaaay too rich for my blood. Any suggestions for an alternative to Souveran or is this the true cat's pajamas when it comes to wax?

if u like wgdgps give wg fuzion a try . then maintain with wg spritz sealant . all in the family 1-2-3 punch . I use it and love it .

I had Souveran just traded it..I also have Fuzion, Midnight sun and Black fire wet diamond..and I only use my wet diamond and midnight sun anymore..I havnt used fuzion in a long time and havnt used my Souveran in over a year.
 
Lol pretty much most waxes equal to or above the price of $50 are usually good, like the dodo's, fuzion, midnight sun, CG 50/50, etc. etc. etc. You really can't go wrong with any of them
 
Lusso Oro is a comparable option. You could get a 2 oz sample for $9 or an 8oz pot for $30. It's similar to Souveran in appearance and ease of use
 
Thank you fellow members for your input. You have given me ideas for upcoming purchases. I will eventually try them all.

Last night I placed an order for Blackfire Midnight Sun and the polymer spray.

I really like the Pinnacle wax but it doesn't seem to last very long. I'm hoping that the polymer spray adds some longentivity.
 
U get free refills when u order Fuzion? Can someone please fill me in? I was thinking of pulling the trigger with the vip special.

Carnauba Wax has long been the choice to enthusiasts and professionals who desire reflections that appear to dance under the paint with incredible depth. Carnauba wax is one of the hardest natural occurring waxes in nature. The result is serious protection for your ride. Carnauba wax is not quite as easy to apply as modern synthetic paint sealants, nor does it last quite as long. But when you desire the ultimate in depth of shine and a wet paint finish, there is no other choice.

Carnauba wax grows on the fawns of the Copernicia prunifera, or carnauba palm. The Copernicia prunifera is a tree that is native to northeastern Brazil. Carnauba is excreted by the tree to protect its delicate fawns from rain and sunlight. Carnauba wax, in its natural form, ranges from a dark brown to pale yellow dependent on age and purity. Premium grade carnauba, known as #1 Yellow, is used for car waxes because it offers the highest levels of gloss with minimal clouding of reflections.

When carnauba wax is exposed to water it swells. This seals the surface it is applied to and creates an extreme beading effect that causes water form into tiny droplets and run from the surface. Carnauba wax is also highly resistant to UV rays from the sun. The hard, shell-like finish created by carnauba wax resists damage from bug remains, bird bombs, and environmental fall out. In fact carnauba wax is so hard that in its natural state it is comparable to concrete!

Car waxes that feature carnauba wax are not the same! Carnauba wax is so hard that it must be blended with other ingredients in order to make it applicable to paint. These ingredients car vary wildly, from other waxes, to combinations of solvents, oils, and sometimes extremely rare and expensive extracts. Some waxes are blended with the same high-quality polymer ingredients found in synthetic paint sealants. Premium grade carnauba waxes, which differ from less expensive, store-priced carnauba waxes, usually feature highest quality ingredients. These ingredients can be difficult to work with and expensive. This requires that the waxes are hand poured to exact measurements, and hand cooked in very specific processes.


Even carnauba wax itself isn't the same. After the wax is beaten off the fawns of the Copernicia prunifera it is graded on age and color. Most car waxes use Brazilian #1 grade yellow, this is the purest natural form. However the wax can be purified and refined by several methods, including filtration, centrifugation, and bleaching. The purification process can be very lengthy. The highest grades of purified carnauba wax are almost pure white in color and often called “Ivory Carnauba Wax.” When this ultra-pure carnauba is blended in the methods suggested in the preceding paragraph the result is a premium car wax that can take several days to make, but rewards its user the ultimate in depth of shine and shimmering gloss.

When it comes to selecting a carnauba wax there is no wrong or right answer. Each wax will exhibit different characteristics depending on the purity of the wax, the ingredients blended into it, and the precision required to cook it. Carnauba waxes will tend to create reflections that appear deeper into the paint, known as depth. I recently used Pinnacle Souveran on my black Mustang. You may find this hard to believe but to me it looks identical to Meguiars Gold Class Plus in gloss and wet appearance. That may be heresy, but it is what it is. For a lot less money :).

nowhere near the same in depth, ease of application, nor removal. There is a difference and likely the fillers and polishes in Megs makes it look better against a pure nuba wax unless finish was in pristine polished condition.
 
Souveran reminds me a lot of 845, in color, viscosity and ease of application/removal
 
845 is tough too!

I think it would be an awesome test. Obviously this guy is a connoisseur. Put 845 to the test. Give us a quick review. I'm interested..

Isn't that the whole point? The majority of people on this forum I venture to say are not able to get a flawless finish, and if they are, they probably don't have the time to do that except on a few vehicles a year. So if Megs Gold Class makes a car look better then Souveran on a less then pefectly polished out car, why wouldn't you use it? Who is going to say, "Hey your car looks awesome! It's a shame it isn't pure carnauba."
 
Having tested a bunch of different brands of waxes, I honestly can say I can't really tell that much of a difference in looks between all of them. Your prep is going to have a lot more do with your end product then which type of wax you use.

For me, Collinite 845, 915 and 746 will always be tops in my opinion. Reason being, they are durable and affordable.

I think that for most colors, you are largely correct. If you put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig. There are I think differences in wetness, slickness, and feel depending on the product. On my silver Jeep, it really doesn't matter which LSP I use. On my black Mustang however, Souveran, and Megs Gold Class add a noticeable richness to the color.
 
I started my wax fetish with Souveran. Then I moved on to Midnight Sun. Yesterday, I went back to the Pinnacle product. The two are comparable in ease of application and shine but I think I have to give a slight edge to Souveran because the metal flake seems to pop a bit better.
 
I use souveran fuzion etc... I just change depending on my mood. Right now, she has 3 coats of souveran on it. Lol


But try blacklight + v7 on top, instead of souveran.
