Speed Master Wheel Brush???

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush???

Received my replacement brush! I use it only with the gentlest of hands. Nice to have one back!

Anyway... Does this brush hold soapy-water well?

Yes, it holds soapy water fairly well. It does not hold it as well as the Daytona Speedmaster, but it works great regardless :xyxthumbs:

Yup mine broke in the same spot after 6 months.

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush???

I love my daytona brush but also fear the day it breaks. I really don't think the stem/shaft needs to be metal at all. I think a sturdy rubber rod would work much better, or carbon fiber coated with a chemical resistant resin of some sort.

I actually do not even like the fact the stem is so stiff. I would much rather is be loosely flexible. You use the brushes for cleaning anyway without pressure. Why does it have to be stiff???

Thoughts????

I, and others, do use pressure with the Speedmaster.

The reason it's metal is so that it can be molded to go around corners, behind wheel spokes, and the behind edge of wheel well rims and still be stiff.

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush???

Ideally... I dream of a brush similar to this one, with shorter bristles that holds a lot soapy-water. Similar because this brush gets stuck between my tire(s) and fender.

I have been searching for one similar to that mothers brush (which I own) but in a low-profile design. Honestly I can't believe someone hasn't made a low profile wheel well cleaner. I just use my speedmaster for now.

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush???

Ive had mine since thanksgiving black friday and it looks like its never been used!! Well thats because it sits in my trunk bc I spent 30 on a brush so I havent found a wheel werthy enough lol

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush???

Like many of you I have them too. Every time I use it, like today, it bent right at the handle and it's just a matter of time before it snaps. Since I know this I'm not to be to aggressive with it..

I'm a little disappointed because these brushes aren't cheep and I can see this one going south right where everyone else's does. When it does I won't be buying another one at $30.00 a pop...:(

Re: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush???

love the brush ... dont find any real strength is needed. My original blue version lasted two years with weekly use on two-three cars. The newer version seems to work well. The only issue, my legs are often riddled with sprinkles from pullback. (smiles)
