Was wondering if slower speed sitting should be used with 4" spot buffing pads?. Should slower speeds be used for heat concerns?

Im a newbie too, but i assume it doesnt matter what size the pads are since its still spinning at the same rate as the machine is set to? smaller pad just means smaller surface covered? Like a porsche going 60 mph vs a kia going 60 mph. They both are going 60 mph. I could be really wrong though.

smaller pads put less stress on the machine since there is less foam contacting the paint and therefore less resistance for the machine to overcome.

It is the main reason, 5.5 inch pads work so much better than 6.5 inch pads on a PCXP.

So small pads will correct faster at a given speed. Just keep it in mind when doing your thing. I've read about people burning or twisting their paint with a DA and small pads...

General settings to use as a guideline, customize as you see fit... The first objective would be to make sure you are achieving the primary goal with the right combination of pad, product, speed and technique. Once you have an approach dialed-in, then assess heat collection and dissipation. To answer the question in reverse order seems counter-intuitive to me. Great question though (seriously)!

Correction: 5-6
Polishing/Finishing: 4-5
Sealing/Waxing: 3-4

My concern is on the front clip, small thin areas and lots of curves and is plastic.
