I was called in by Designo Motoring to do a full correction on a 9k mile '04 Black 996TT Cab this past week. I was told the car was getting ready to be sold, and they were after top dollar. When I arrived, I found one of the biggest MESSES I've ever seen. It was evident immediately that the car had been brutalized by some idiot with a rotary buffer. Thanks Porsche of Rockville......get your "detail guy" some training.:rolleyes Buffer trails, holograms, and buffer installed swirls covered the car throughout. It literally looked like someone had grabbed a handful of steel wool, and washed the car with it. The rear spoiler had been repainted, and was absolutely FULL of sanding marks that were never finished down. Surprisingly, the paint on the spoiler was hard as ROCK, not the norm for the usually soft Porsche paint. It required multiple passes with a wool pad and would not level completely. Since the shop didn't want to spend the extra money on sanding, this would have to do. I spent the majority of the afternoon and well into the night Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and about 6 hours on Saturday to restore the finish. Most of the before and during shots were taken with my iPhone, so I apologize about the quality of some of the photos.

WOW. Awesome awesome job man, It still blows me away how Porsches can even look like this. It's also pretty bad when your 50/50s aren't just a noticeable difference, but you actually see a white line as if the clean side was 2 inches below all the swirls.

Great work!!:props:

wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww you did an AWESOME job on that car man!!! Thanks for sharing!

Very nice work! By any chance did it have a diamond detail sticker in the windshield?
I see a whole Bunch done like that up here from stoler a valley Porsche
Mike

I think you did an outstanding job!! That came out great! The paint just looks perfect.

Did you do all those steps throughout the entire car?

Sweet sweet sweet!!! Awesome work Brian! :dblthumb2:

 It's crazy how bad that paint was before!!

It looks blacker than black now! :hungry:

Thanks guys! Yes I did all those steps on the car, except for the 105/PFW combo which was used on the spoiler.

Didn't see any diamond decal on the windshield, maybe they'd like to pay me for some classes?? ;)

This picture is going to cause me to have nightmares, and I don't even own a black car:eek:

Once again, rich person with a car and just abuses it, good things there's shops out there to make it all nice, so I guess you guys out there don't give a rip how they take care of it, its why/how you make your money, good for you but as a car enthusist those pics were disturbing!

GREAT JOB ON THE FINISHED PRODUCT:xyxthumbs:

That's Awesome Brian. It was threads like this one that got me into detailing in the first place. Terrific work on that car. It's just a shame that someone could use a coarse wool pad on a car like this and then say that it's done.

Very good work, it looked horrible before!

This is your moneyshot! :xyxthumbs:

Seriously, that car looks good enough to eat!!!

I bet your detail added seven thousand to the value of the car.

Hard to believe that some detailer was able to charge for that work. I wouldn't be surprised if his "work" didn't add two days to your job.

And I'm sure that you will get a lot more work from that dealer after he sees what you were able to do with that finish. Better than new.

I hope he does!! lol

...wow. I love black cars when they're perfect, and you definitely nailed it.
