I was approached by a fellow member over on 6speedonline about giving his black 911 some love. The paint on these poor cars is so soft, I had a pretty good idea of what I'd be dealing with....and she didn't disappoint! ;) Total time spent was roughly 20 hours massaging the black paint back to life. There were deep scratches and swirls throughout, but the results speak for themselves. She shines like new now! We were on a time deadline so I didn't take as many "during" photos, but got what I could.



Products used:


  • Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner
  • 1Z W99 degreaser
  • CG Citrus Wash
  • Nanoskin autoscrub
  • Nanoskin Glide lubricant
  • M105 on LC PFW pad via FLEX 3401
  • Pinnacle Advanced finishing polish on LC CCS White pad via FLEX 3401
  • Menzerna SF4500 on LC CCS Grey pad via FLEX3401
  • HD Poxy
  • Pinnacle Souveran paste wax
  • Sonax glass cleaner
  • Optimum metal polish
  • Poorboy's wheel sealant

Another common issue on 911s is the engine cover area. Due to it's tight location I decided to break out my 3" Griot's mini polisher and go to town. Below are before and after shots

What combo did you use on the engine cover with the smaller GG? Those fins look great!

Mrgolfeider - I used a 3" PFW and M105 followed up by a 3" über blue finishing pad with SF4500
