Spent the day with an AGO forum member....

Great work guys, always great when members help members

Great Job Charlie :applause::applause::applause: :dblthumb2: :buffing:

Charlie....What a great, humble deed! Providing your vast knowledge of detailing with a "hands on" training session to an eager to learn neophyte, shows characteristics that I often find are to be in short reserve---sharing, caring, and respect for your fellow man.

You not only made this young man's day, but ours also. Kudoes:dblthumb2:

Bob

:iagree: Kudos to Charlie and to your protege! This is one of the many reasons I enjoy AG forums.

Charlie
An old guy told me once Knowledge is power only if you shear it. You move to the next level, nice job

Thanks for the comments, guys!

I have to say -- and I'm sure Mike Phillips will agree with this -- it can be just as enjoyable teaching others as it is doing the work yourself.

:iagree:

But:

Charlie...when I schedule an appointment to bring my vehicles to your shop for detailing, I want to experience that enjoyment, first-hand...not hands-on, while your doing the work. :D

To be serious: I know that I'm in need of more indepth training!!! So many new products and techniques! Instead of sometimes going at it blindly, I just wish there was someone closer to me that could provide the same hands-on teaching as you have demonstrated.

Bob

Charlie,

That is so damn COOL of you mentoring someone passing along allot of fine knowledge and knowhow!! :dblthumb2:

Here's a tip if my hat and a toast to you for taking the time to do something so nice! I've done this as well and it makes me feel great inside and a simple thank you and the smile on his face is payment enough!! :props:

Bob, I really don't think there is anyone -- myself included -- who wouldn't benefit from continued training (hands-on or otherwise) and advice from time to time. Like you said, there are so many new products and techniques coming out that going at things blindly from time to time almost can't be helped. All we can do is use our heads and collaborate to come up with the best ways to make things work for us, and then shout it from the rooftops so others can draw from our methods as well.

As the saying goes, "there's more than one way to skin a cat" and if we're not all open to learning from one another we might never move beyond making the same old bland hairball soup. :props:

You're not too far from me Charlie, I may take a road trip one day...:)

After driving 900+ miles to Detail Fest 2 years in a row, a trip to your place is nothing :). I worked on a car about 2 months ago that was about 8 hours away too.

Very cool of you to share your detailing knowledge and let someone get some hands on experience. I wish I knew somone when I was starting out and getting serious about detailing that could have shown me tips and techniques
