I have a 2012 Charger, last year I bought blackfire's fire over ice kit, and I also got the SRC Compound and SRC Finishing Polish. while it did remove some of the marks it did not remove all.

I used my poirter cable 7424XP polisher and 3 different LC pads which I kept working a 2 x 2 area over and over again. It still did not get out all of these spider lines. This was last fall. So I ended up the SRC Compound, Polish, and then applying the Midnight Sun Wax since winter was fast approaching.

The car has gone through the winter and it seems like the blackfire wax is still alive and well on the car.

Any recommendations its driving me nuts! From several feet away you cannot see these marks unless the sun hits it or it is under florescent blue casted parking lot lights.

Is this normal to get these marks ? Am I being too fussy ??????

What can I do at this point to get these spider marks out without killing my clearcoat ?

When I say spider lines I mean fine swirl like marks that look like the thickness of a spiders webbing I also have scratches as well.

I also came across this on my dad's black car. I didnt have time to address the problem when i found out about it. now It's in the shop now due to an accident. I'm not going to get it back till 3 more weeks. I know exactly what you mean though. I can't see it at night during normail light at all. Once the sun hits it, it was all over the hood. lots of spider like lines, similar to really straight web. The hood was my only test spot at the time. the Car was also black. I'm planning to try and polish it out once the car to come back. Hopefully someone can shine in cause i went pretty aggressive trying to remove the 3 years worth of express car wash scratches/swirls.

I would bump up the aggressiveness of your pads and compound you are using. I am not familiar with SRC stuff but I tackled some webbing swirls and tough scratches today with megs MF cutting disk and their D300. It was on black and left a little haze. Black CCS with 85rd cleaned it up nicely. I used a rupes 21 but your porter cable with work as well. Your just going to have to keep trying different combos until you find one that works. Of course start with the least aggressive and work your way up. Good Luck.

I'm wondering if this is a technique issue, as it seems line you have the right buffing liquids. You didn't mention what pads you used, but I would recommend getting a few LC yellow CCS pads before you try it again. They are very aggressive and can remove quite a lot. You could go with MF pads as well.

However, you need to figure out a way you can see the defects while your trying to remove them. If you can't see them while you doing your test spot your wasting your time. Seeing them may involve pulling the car outside in the sun or even driving to a gas station at night after doing your test spot to use their lighting.

Fine lines on a black car that is daily driven can by easy to get rid of, but hard to keep away permanently. You won't know how much clear coat you are removing without a paint gauge, but if the car was only polished once or twice it should be fine.

I used 3 different LC Hydro Tech Pads
Crimson
Cyan
Tangerine

Crimson won't any cut at all. Cyan has the most cut and Tangerine is an in between and can be used for finishing polishes. How many passes did you use? expect 4-8 with each step over each area.
