Spilled coffee on carpet

I spilled 6 shots of starbucks espresso in the passenger footwell of my car yesterday. I am pretty badly injured, so I could not get down there to clean it up. I was able to get a friend to blot the area with a towel. We mostly blotted the carpet. I told him not to worry about the floor mat since that can be replaced easily.

I am not too worried about stains. It is a black interior. It does smell like starbucks in here now though.

I am mostly worried about the potential of getting mold. What tis the best way to clean up the mess, eliminate the odors and prevent mold?

I wish you where by me I would come help you. If you can get something like nature miracle that should help from mold building up. If you can get a friend to help clean it up would be better.

should I use a cleaner and wipe dry
or
should I shampoo

my gut tells me to avoid shampooing as that may create more issues with possible mold

I would probably use a cleaner and wipe down that should get rid of the moisture and smell and then just vacuum after

If it was black coffee it would be easy as it doesn't really stain...

It's all the junk people put into it that stains. :D
