Spot polish and wax?

Is it ok to spot polish and wax? I put on a new coat of wax a month ago and the stupid dealership had to put swirls on my bumper and only on a corner of my bumper (they were replacing one light).....

In some cases I have spot polished, but often use the entire panel as outline. Have spot waxed or sealed many times, especially after birdie bombs.

thats what I was thinking, but there the swirls also extend to a part on the rear fender that goes all the way to the front
