I had been using these HD bottles for the past few months and developed a deep rooted hatred for them in the process. It was hard to pass up the $.99 price point when I bought them. At first it was the nozzles that made me want to pull my hair out. Then, as I used them more and more my hatred progressed to the bottles themselves.

"How could you hate a bottle so much?" one might ask. Try using one with clay lubricant and have the nozzle BREAK IN HALF causing you to have to catch it with your other hand before it slammed into the hood... loosing a full clay bar to the ground in the process. So that's what started my hatred, but it only grew from there. Over time the painted sections on the bottle became brittle and started to peel off onto my hands whenever I would touch them. These paint chips would stick to my hands and come off everywhere. On my phone, on my clothes, on my MFs, EVERYWHERE!!!

Enough was enough. It was time to do something drastic...

Horrible quality...

I had some of this stuff lying around going to waste... I figured it should work well enough to dissolve all this cruddy paint off.

I grabbed some cotton pads that I normally use for trim dressing.

After soaking the pads in the Toluol I proceeded to wipe off all the paint and markings from the bottles. I decided to leave the measurement readings since for some reason they did not seem to chip off like the orange paint was.

The paint wiped away very easily. The soft paint was easy to correct, even by hand. lol.

After the pad became filled with removed paint I would change to a new pad. The process went much faster when working with fresh clean pads. Similar to correcting paint.

After: completely stripped.

The Toloul was very strong. By the time I had finished with all the bottles it had worn through all the fingers of my gloves...

All the sprayers were then replaced with high-quality sprayers and each bottle was labeled to reflect it's contents. Money shot:

LOL thanks. My initial thought was to junk these and get some Kwazars but I have so many of these bottles I wanted to figure out a way to make them work. The sprayers that I found were only $2 each and they work great.

I have a local auto parts store that sells those exact sprayers lol. I use some heavy duty rubbermaid spray bottles I by from my work for $3 and some change. They work pretty good. Good idea though. I'll keep that in mind if my bottles ever crap out on me.

There was a saying...you get what you pay for

Buy cheap bottle, put in work on the bottle, buy $2 attachment for bottle...more than $3 total

Buy a $3 dollar bottle = $3...

Still, for anyone on a budget, this is def a good technique to use.

Those bottles/sprayers are the worst quality I have ever seen. You get what you pay for. I have two of those at my work for use of EZ clean and it is the same for me at work. I bought my own personal bottle/sprayer and dont have any issues.

Those are horrible. The Zep ones at HD are actually quite good and usually run around $4.

The last 2 I bought are crap, the sprayer shoots a stream as opposed a fine mist. Not sure whats im missing but im about to kwazar myself once I get some cash

Try checking out US plastics. :xyxthumbs:

I get all my bottles there and I have a label maker for marking each bottle. 32oz bottle and chemical resistant sprayer for under $2

:iagree:

At first I thought that only some of theme were defective. Then, as I used them more and more I noticed ALL of them equally suck just as bad. I can't tell you how many times I have dropped a full bottle of product on the ground because the sprayer broke off mid spray.

Eventually I started only filling them halfway and it seemed to mitigate the weakness of the spray nozzle assembly; however, that was not a viable long term solution.

I tried checking the AutoGeek store to see if they have these same sprayers (I got these from Chemical Guys) and they seem to have something very similar.

16 oz. White Sprayer
Black Low Profile Sprayer
