Spray sealants?

Aquawax is absolutely a sealant, no wax, and I'm pretty sure the same is true for UQW, Meguiar's has several "waxes" that are simply sealants, NXT etc. These are consumer products, and consumers want "wax", they don't know from sealants.

This is not correct: those products are pure sealants with no wax in their formulations.

Welp, there it is!

Yeah I've mainly been using OCW and like it. I was just real curious on how long reload lasts. It's cost effective only $1.30 per car. I have sonax and hate it. It's a ##### to take off, I like being able to spray something on and just wipe off. I don't like hand waxing cars honestly, all I do now is professional coatings and spray sealants/waxes. Thanks for the input

In my experience the first edition of Reload gives about 2-3 months on paint, and about a month on wheels. I haven't tried the 2014 version yet.

If time and cost are a concern look no further than a true wipe on walk away sealant (wowa). I prefer UPGP over Blackfire and Wolfgang's versions. There is speculation that Blackfire and Wolfgang products are made by the same manufacturer as the Ultima products this being Premium Finish Care.

Sonax what?

If it's PNS it needs to be removed immediately. I've heard complaints from numerous people but it's been due to miss use.

I'm looking for a long lasting spray sealant. To use as a stand alone

As a stand alone, my choice would be Blackfire Crystal Seal. Some might quibble about it as a "true" spray on because it is technically a WOWA, but you spray it on, spread it out and walk away. You will have to do something very similar using any spray on sealant.

I've had good luck with other WOWA sealants too, but BFCS just has a look to it that I really like.

Plus 100 for Blackfire Crystal Seal. Used this as my winter stand alone on my cars this year and worked great. You can touch up with Blackfire Poly Spray after a winter wash.

Does BFCS have a cure time? How is it vs. UPGP?

Sealants are the product I worry about least. They all work well. Reload, Menzerna, Hydro2, I've even had good luck with Eagle One Nanowax spray.

Opti-Seal is boss. too easy. and a bottle lasts FOREVER.

i have been loving it on top of Opti-Coat and Opti-Glass. yikes. not sure how long it really lasts on the coatings but it's super slick.

I love CG's Hybid v07 as a sealant but I also use it on top of a Pinnacle Black Label paint coating...and I use Pinnacle Souveran paste as a last step.

BUMP! Can anyone comment on this? I've searched other threads, but can't seem to find a longevity answer for UPGP as well...

bf's can be layered within 45min.....

UPGP I had the OLD formula last 4-5 months w/ 3 layers.....used ceedogs(corey) old post as reference when using upgp

My understanding is that AquaWax & Megs UQW are waxes with synthetic polymers in them....but they aren't true sealants.

Prima HydroMAX, Wolfgang Deep Gloss Spritz Sealant, BF Wet Diamond Polymer Spray, CarPro's Hydro and Sonax BSD are true spray sealants with CG V07 being a QD hybrid and Opti-Seal being a spray WOWA sealant. Just my understanding though...

Mine too. Aquawax as much as I like it, isn't particularly durable and isn't marketed as such.

Really though, why is a non-spray wax so much more durable than a spray wax? Perhaps a scientifically minded person will have the answer.

I tried to look up the MSDS of Megs UQW, but the info is "proprietary" so the ingredients aren't listed. Aquawax lists a silicone fluid called "POLYAMINODIMETHYL SILOXANE".

The lines can be so blurred when it comes to naming products. I'm guessing that anything with carnauba in it (even if it contains silicone as well) is considered a wax--if no carnauba is among the ingredients, then it's not a "wax"?

Believe it or not Turtle Wax Ice spray wax is very good . Seems to last longer then most.

mothers fx spray wax is very good as well. got a few bottles on clearance (oreilly's) for less than a buck each and well worth full price if it wasn't. the whole fx line is excellent...
