Hi Everyone,
After I wash my car, while it is still wet, I have been misting the car with a detailing spray and then drying it off with a MF cloth. I have found this helps prevent water spots and also helps to keep the shine on my cars longer after I have detailed them. I was hoping for feedback on the following:

1) Is this a good technique to use?
2) If so, should I be using a detailing spray or a spray wax?
3) I have seen a lot of posts on what spray wax works the best and a lot are saying XMT or Optimum. For what I am doing, what would work best and are these better than a Mothers spray wax? Reason I ask this is the XMT and Optimum are more expensive.
4) How long can I keep washing and spray waxing/detailing before I need to wax again? This is daily driver that I have been detailing every 3-4 months with Wolfgang products. It is parked in a garage.

Thank you for the help...

I'd go with a spray wax. My favorite is XMT 360 followed by much less expensive but mighty impressive...Meg's ultimate Quik wax which is a great product under $10 and sold everywhere.

I don't use detail sprays anymore because I want both protection and killer looks for my labor

Optimum Spray Car Wax
Duragloss Aqua Wax....

I use Optimum Spray Car Wax instead of a detail spray.

I've been very happy with OCW.

I just used some XMT 360 Spray wax today, and I must say it is impressive. Nice wet looks, nice slick feel. Easy application too, doesn't hurt that I got in on BOGO for it here on AG, I believe it is still on BOGO as I type....cant beat BOGO

I usually mist Finish Kare 425 while drying. Then follow up with Duragloss Aquawax.

Optimum Spray Car Wax
Duragloss Aqua Wax....

These are my two favorite but I prefer OCW: the added UV protection that it has and that, according to Chris from Optimum, migrates to the clear coat if you use it continuously makes it my go-to spray wax.

DGAW is exactly formulated to do what you have been doing. It's $9 a bottle and you can find it someplaces OTC. When it''s on BOGO here it flies out quickly so if you see it buy it right then, I missed the last one as I hesitated and the next morning gone. I've used OCW as well and experienced some streaking but that was a long time ago so I should try it again just in case.

It is becoming increasing fair to say it gets murky as to when to use a QD or Spray Wax post-wash (as either a drying aid, protection or gloss enhancer). By definition, using a QD post-wash seems like overkill but the other properties you can find in this type of product (as well as cost per ounce) does draw you use it.

If the surface is not clean I will use Crystal Mist as it seems to have a higher lubrication than Souveran Spray wax. After washing or after rain I will use Souveran Spray wax.

So with an application once a month of Soveran paste wax, daily use of Crystal mist and regular use of Souveran spray wax I think i have things covered..

This was very good feedback, thank you everyone. I ended up ordering the Duragloss Aquawax and also picked up XMT 360 spray wax since it was buy one get one....

Lucas spray wax...Detail FK 425.....

All good products just keep upkeep on washing , wax

I have been using the Griot's Spray on Wax as a drying aid. Does anyone know the effects on microfiber drying towels of using spray wax as a drying aid? Does the wax build up in the waffle weave?

You just wash them like other microfiber towels.
