Spray WAX Suggestions... trying to check out before the sale ends!

Hey Tad,

I was actually blown away by the results with Black Onyx Tire Gel! It went on soooo easy and the coverage was great. I detailed my truck yesterday and did the tires with Black Onyx and man this stuff it great! To get in between the lugs I used a brush.

Initially it was super glossy but then calmed down just a bit and now it's absolutely perfect! I've got about 1/2 the sample size left so this will also be part of my next order. Man I'm going broke with all this good stuff!

Tad and Bobby,

Sorry to be slightly off topic but a quick couple of question regarding Black Onyx.

For interest sake:
1) is Black Onyx shinier than Opti-Bond at this point?
2 How long did it take to calm down and how did you get it to calm down?
3) Do your tires easily come clean with soap and water?
4) How long does the treatment last or do you use it with every wash?
5) Does it attract or repel brake dust and grime in general?
6) Does it go on greasy or oily?
7) Do you get black spots from the dressing on your lower panels after driving through puddles or went it rains?

Tad and Bobby,

Sorry to be slightly off topic but a quick couple of question regarding Black Onyx.

For interest sake:
1) is Black Onyx shinier than Opti-Bond at this point? Richier and darker black (maybe a slight bit more of a satin sheen).
2 How long did it take to calm down and how did you get it to calm down? I buffed it with a terry cloth towel about an hour latter.
3) Do your tires easily come clean with soap and water? Yes, very much so.
4) How long does the treatment last or do you use it with every wash? I don't know yet, as I just started using it recently.
5) Does it attract or repel brake dust and grime in general? Have not noticed any issues.
6) Does it go on greasy or oily? Don't know as my son applied it to my vehicles for me, but he did say that he liked it better than Opti-bond and (new formula) DP tire gel.
7) Do you get black spots from the dressing on your lower panels after driving through puddles or went it rains? None noticed.

Tad, if you don't want the DP Tire Gel I will gladly take it! I should have ordered it last week on the BOGO. The cool thing is that I can pick it up in person if I head your way again. That way there's no chance of mixing up labels. But if I don't fly out there we may need to talk about shipping.

WHAT, WHAT, I sent it to you last month, you mean you didn't get it yet??? Hold on while I check with the wife................:work::work::work:...........................

OK, I'm back. WOW, your not going to believe this, but it smelt so good that she tells me now the dog ate 1/2 of it. So she mixed some gasoline, kerosine, cheetos, and baby powder with it (to make up the other 1/2) and then shipped it out. Low and behold, just 5 minutes ago the Concord jet company I chartered to delivery it tells me that they mixed up the packages and delivered your tire gel to Dana. I called him and asked if he would please send it to you and I would cover the shipping (because it was my dogs fault). But he told me to bite the wall, he is going to keep it. He said that it turns out the formula that my wife concocted is an incredible paint sealant and he is testing durability on that old beat up vette he keeps in his garage. So I guess your going to have to take it up with him. I tried my best and I'm exhausted...

That sir is probably one of the funniest things I've read in a long time! Bravo! :applause::applause:

By the way, I made a thread a Ranney's place about the current situation that you should really read one of the responses.

Too late, but Im a Spray Wax junkie. Pinnacle and Duragloss are 2 of my 3 favorites. Four Star with Polycharger is my all time favorite. However, OCW is a great buy by the gallon.

What; I'm not sure what you guys are talking about? Don't you believe me? You can ask Dana if you don't.

JUST GOT MY ORDER LAST NIGHT... somehow a day earlier than UPS predicted it would be here through tracking - wow!

CAN'T EXPLAIN that feeling of tearing open that PBMA tape, and pulling my goodies from the Styrofoam peanuts! :)

The packaging was SUPERB, the shipping was FAST, and the prices were GREAT! Man I'm glad I took advantage opf that 15% off PLUS free shipping - awesome.

That's what I ended up going with... when the day comes and I get my dream car though, you're saying the best possibly spray wax on the market is Four Start with Polycharger hands down?

Since I got just amazing friendly advice in this thread, that I ended up using and buying of course, I wanted to revisit it and ask for a great INSTANT DETAIL SPRAY only, with no wax, to apply as the very final coat after the wash, spray wax, etc when going to car shows or just taking the GT out for the weekend :)

I have used Meg's in the past, along with Wizard's, and both were great... although in all honesty, I've never seen a shine or easier wipe-on/wipe-off than Wizard's in my life, but my favorite site ;) doesn't carry it.

Please shoot any and all opinions my way on the best high gloss instant detail spray to apply to an already clean car to REALLY bring out that POP and WOW!!! Thank you so much.

Bump for the above post... any help or thoughts at all would be really appreciated. Thank you! :)

Not sure about wax content in these but I've used them with excellent results: No order preference - just listed in the order they popped into my head.

1. Meguiars Mirror Glaze #135 Synthetic Spray Detailer

Pro Version of Ultimate Quik Detailer

2. Meguiars #34 Final Inspection

Body Shop Safe spray detailer - no ingredients that would have a negative affect on surface adhesion of fresh paint to a body panel. No ingredients that would act to seal fresh paint.

3. Meguiars Last Touch Spray Detailer

Adds lots of gloss and slickness to paint in excellent condition, comes in bulk gallon jugs. Can be used as a waterless wash is sprayed on using heavy applications or diluted by 50% and used as a clay lube.

Thanks a lot, I was looking for something totally wax free as I already use Optima for that while drying. Just a pure instant gloss detailer, like Meg's. I ended up going with a gallon of Wizards Mist-N-Shine though, would have liked to buy it through Auto Geek, but they only sell direct. It's the single best detail product I've ever used in my life, it's confusingly good, amazing.

Mike, as always spot-on! Thank you. I have 2 unopened gallons of Synthetic Spray Detailer at home right now, but due to my new baby and addiction (in the form of a 2009 Mustang GT in Vapor Silver) I was searching around for something even more 'pop' to the gloss and shine from a smaller boutique-type manufacturer. I will still use the 135 on our Jeep and Mustang without a doubt, I've love it for years, but the Wizard's will be before car shows or important 'gatherings' of friends and family, hehe.

So Last Touch Spray Detailer is something I've never tried... seems like that is described by you as the ultimate spray detailer product out there (or at least of the trio I asked about). Since the paint on my vehicles is excellent because both are new cars, and of course because I take care of them, perhaps this would be the best for me in the future once my supply runs dry, so attain the MAXIMUM wet gloss and perfect shine?

You're welcome. After reading Mike P.'s response I realized I didn't really answer your real question(s). :(

Mike P. covered the Megs line-up very well.
