Spray Waxes out the gawwzoooo!

Thanks guys for all the replies!
Here is really what I'm looking for and as we use clear bottles and never divulge our produt line I'm not looking for the coolest looking product/bottle...
We have a 4 bay setup and in bay 4 we do all the two bucket washes .. This bay has 2-250 mph blowers so after we wash we let em rip for a few seconds and then bring it over to bay 1 which is right by the customer waiting area behind a glass window ... Luxury vehicle owners see detailers wearing microfiber gloves drying down there vehicle and giving it a last step touch ...I sell this wash package with a high gloss final step to avoid promising a wax or sealant ... I have used AquaWax andD154 and these always seems to flash easily and on regularly maintained vehicles they always play well
OCW I hear is nice but I am not interested in having the guys apply this nice of a product as it requires WIPE- FLASH- buff ...3steps
Our process now is once the vehicle is pulled in the bay it is 90% dry so a QD or spray wax that flashes quickly is ideal...
Do any of the above mentioned play ok if the surface is somewhat wet? I ask this as once it gets colder it is harder to get vehicles bone dry where is 100deqgree heat it is easier

Thanks Bob for the kind words :)

Don't know how other people use OCW, but I use it the exact same way as any other spray wax, including UQW (D156) - spray on, spread with towel, flip for final buff.

All spray "waxes" have some degree of polymer in them. The difference between the two terms is a matter of semantics more than reality.

I respectfully beg to differ.

There is a night and day difference in the finished product when using OCW as opposed to Opti-Seal...both WOWA products.

OCW has a classic high carnauba warmth and glow, whereas, Opti-Seal has the "classic" sealant, almost laminated wet look.

As for other brands mentioned in this thread, I have not tried them.

OCW + H2O = streaks... IME. Requires a dry surface.

OCW is more of a 2-step than a 3. Wipe on with one mf, and buff with another. Almost as easy as Opti-Seal - which also requires a dry surface.

Hope that you find your product choice. :xyxthumbs:

Meguire's quick wax spray & wipe during wipe down after wash.

OCW is WOWO, not WOWA. Big difference. If you are able to apply OCW as a WOWA, then you need to tell me your secret because I needed to buff it off after application to prevent streaking.

Just because the finished product looks different doesn't mean they are different types of product. Souveran looks completely different than Swissvax Concorso, yet they are both paste waxes.

My point is that calling something a spray "wax" tends to mean a product that is WOWO on an already clean surface. These lines are really blurred because the amount of "wax" varies significantly and the look differs quite a bit as well. Some, like OCW or XMT 360, have carnauba wax, while others, like V7, contain no carnauba. ALL contain some degree of polymer though, and all are WOWO.

I completely agree that Opti-Seal is a different type of product--it is WOWA like Zaino Clear Seal or UPGP. I consider those types of products spray "sealants" as the application process is completely different.

We can agree to disagree on the semantics though:props:

Is there a quick way to filter and find all the waxes and sealants (spray-on) that dry clear on trim like the Meg's does?

Spray wax (including Spray Sealants) usually doesn't last too long. It's mainly used as a booster over a conventional product after washing. While Optimum claims their spray wax lasts months, I don't like how it looks. To me it seems smeary and tends to leave pseudo holograms in very bright light - even when using it very sparingly. I've tried about 15 spray waxes, and I think the best are: 1Z Spray Wax, Flitz Speed Wax, ECO Touch Spray Wax, Zymol Field Glaze, Wolfgang Spritz Sealant, Pinnacle Spray Wax, Aquawax (on some cars), and the best is: Prima Hydro. V7 is Ok, but I think the others are better.

Wet Surface = Prima Hydro. That's how it's meant to be used. It's "water activated" dry and wax spray polymer.

The last time I read a thread about spray waxes Optimum Spay was all the rave. Now, it's not mentioned. Anyone wanna chime in on Optimum, I was just about to order some.

It's mentioned many times here. OCW = Optimum Car Wax. Be a rebel, try something different: Prima Hydro, Flitz Speed Wäxx, Eco Touch Quick Wax, and, 1Z Sprüh Wax are all great choices.

Oh I see, OCW=Optimun Car Wax. Too many acronyms here, i say ban them. Ban them all.

The only stuff I've tried is Aquawax. No need to try anything else. Pick something you like a stick with it.

I gotta go with OCW. The only streaking issue I've ever had is when I used it in the sun like you aren't supposed to. A little buffing and it went away. This stuff is REALLY nice in the appearance dept. I can't speak for durability as I can't resist putting more on after a wash. Opti-Seal plus OCW is a killer combination!

DQ AW is probably the best value. You can't hardly beat this stuff for the price.

I love Zaino Z8,but AW is half the price of it. Both AW and OCW look as good or better IMO too.

Meqs UQW is great also. You can literally get it anywhere too.

I like the looks of Surf City Barrier Reef Spray, but it's not as easy to apply as the others I've listed. The water beads are terrible too.

I want to try V7 for sure, and I've always wanted to try Mother's F/X as well.

I still maintain that Meg's ultimate quick wax is the most unrated product in terms of ease of use in all temperatures, filling ability, consistently rich look, and especially cost if you buy the D156 equivalent by the gallon.

That and CG v-7 are my favorite after wash toppers. I especially like UQW in winter temps as I've found nothing that matches it in terms of ease of use at 40 degrees and under.
