Sprint or Verizon?

Seems to be working good so far no complaints, my dads been with them since they were Nextel, he breaks his phone all the time working and they fix it or replace it real easy at that one on lake

I live in Northwest IN, just outside Chicago. I have had Verizon, then AT&T finally I have settled on Sprint. I have never had a single issue with service, or my local. Sprint store.

Oh great, i go to the Dunes like 50 times a year in the summer..addicted! Hopefully i can get service there!

Considered Republic Wireless?
WiFi at home and then it rolls onto Sprint when you're out and about. $23.45/mo
Been with them a while and it's saved me $160/mo since switching.

I've never had verizon, but I currently have Sprint and haven't had any issues with their coverage. Also their phones and unlimited data are awesome

Thank You for all the input everyone, i did an estimate of monthly payments and Verizon would be about $10 a month cheaper, but a Sprint iPhone 5 will cost me $100 less than Verizon.

I had sprint for 10 years. Switched to Virgin mobile for an inexpensive monthly plan. That was a mistake from a service standpoint. Just signed up with Verizon and couldn't be happier. Well except for the $100 missing from my wallet every month.

The new HTC one from Sprint is a damn sexy phone though. :)

Thanks again everyone, this will be my first EVER iPhone purchase..is that weird?? Feel like I don't fit in :)

Still haven't decided on which carrier to go with, however Verizon seems to have stronger signals where i live and work, which is important.

It's only weird because Apple makes $40 billion dollar a year of it's iPhone and that is why I won't buy it. Plus the htc one and samsung galaxy s4 have longer battery life.

Sorry not a fan of Apple

I've had really good experiences with Verizon. Been a customer for 5 years

I think i will get Verizon, it has Excellent coverage where i live, compared to Good- according to Sprint.

Thank You Everyone for your input!!!!

I have Verizon and am grandfathered in the unlimited plan. The catch is if I decide to upgrade my phone, (I'm off contract now) I will be penalized and be paying the same amount but will be downgraded to only 2GB a month.

I'm leaving Verizon for Sprint as they still have the unlimited data plan. I've been with Verizon over 10 yrs. Only way to keep unlimited data with them is to pay full price for their phones.

I've had Sprint for 10 yrs, no problems other than some cell towers here in Chicago but even that's been getting better, in some areas anyways:-P

I see what you're saying, i never go over 2GB anyway with my T-Mobile plan. I used to when my previous car did not have GPS built in, now it's not a problem so less data is used.

I did look at the coverage map for Sprint in the Addison area and all signals seem to be at the "good" level and not "excellent" like in other areas. Having good cell service at your home is pretty important :xyxthumbs:

Sorry not a fan of Apple

Costs are low when your only innovation is "squares with round corners" haha.

Sorry couldnt resist, not an Apple fan either although steve jobs was a marketing genius and their "complete system" approach is nice for some.

I had Sprint for two years and dropped them at the first chance for Verizon. The call quality was crap in my area (Bolingbrook) and the download speeds were also pretty horrible when I'd commute to Chicago.

Verizon seems to be consistent with their 4G coverage. The big downside is no unlimited plan.

US Cell should have good coverage in Chicago and offers unlimited 4G LTE.

They just announced that they will be offering the iPhone this year. They rejected it before due to costs. Its expensive and Apple makes you committ to purchasing a minimum amount. U.S. Cell isn't huge so its a hard cost to swallow. In their case they promised to buy $1.2 billion over 3 years. They said they lost 5% of their contract customera since they turned the iPhone down last year.

Little update, I am now with Verizon and have the black iPhone 5. Really liking it so far, however il miss the Swype on the android!
