I'm Opti-coating a new SRT Jeep this weekend for my sister's boyfriend. Does anyone know if the wheel coating has changed again? I want to coat the wheels (also in the barrels, if he's willing to pay for taking the wheels off) and want to make sure I prep them properly.

Is the Jeep we are talking about 2012+?

If so there is no durabrite coating so you can treat them as paint.

For future reference.

06- Early 08 Builds Jeep SRT Rims: No "db" stamp, treat them as paint. No special coating other than a clear coat.

Late 08- 2010 Jeep SRT Rims: They have a db stamp on the rim, only sonax or griots wheel cleaner (low ph) or just regular soap and water. NO ABRASIVES on these rims.

2012-2014 Jeep SRT Rims: Regular clear coat. Treat them as paint.
