SSR3 or Opt Hyper Compund?

Looking to get a new compound, need advice on which compound is overall a better product:
PB SSR3 or Optimum Hyper Compound? Or is there any other that performs better? Will be using with an DeWalt Rotary.

What are you working on?

Reconditioning used or older cars?

Removing sanding marks at the body shop level, as in fresh paint?


Wool pads?
Foam Cutting Pads?

What is the goal? Production detailing or simply going to buff out one car and need a compound?

More Production. Doing multiple vehicles. I have been using Menz. Power Gloss as my most aggressive polishing, but I need something more aggrresive. Using an array of pads, wool, lambswool, CCS LC's.

Well the reason I ask is because usually when you're doing heavy compounding steps if you want to turn out a nice looking finish you're going to have to follow these with another rotary step and some guys will also follow the rotary polishing step with a dual action polisher step just to insure there are no swirls.

Nothing wrong with the above as long as you're charging for it and it's worth your time. For daily drivers, if you're doing the inside, outside, wheels and tires, and getting the average going price then doing multiple step buff-outs might costing your time and money when you could just a good cleaner/wax don't promise a show car finish on an Astro Van or Ford Taurus for the person that uses these vehicles for daily drivers.

If you're getting $300.00 + and only doing the paint then yeah, look for an aggressive compound that finishes out really nice and do the multi-step process.

I have been having a couple customers who dont really care about price want their car done all the way, and I have been finding that the Power Gloss with a wool @ aroung 1800rpm is still not completely doing the job especially on Mercedes paint. This of course is already
:clayed (Sonus).
:After, I use Klasse AIO with a light cut EDge 2k pad on the PC,
:then followed by Klasse HG Sealant (2x) cured about 6 hours in between
:then 100% Car. P21s Paste.

Any advice you could give to completely remove tough swirls and RIDS would be most greatly appreciated. I am really comfortable with the rotary, have been using it for a while, but I can't figure out why I can't get the paint perfect. My only thought is not aggresive enough product...
 
Have you ever tried the M95 or M105?

If not, give the M95 a try with a good quality wool cutting pad.

This compound will pull #1200 grit sanding marks and finish out really nice. You'll still want to follow it with a finishing polish and either a polishing pad or a finishing pad.

As for RIDS, I wouldn't put a lot of focus on removing RIDS because it means removing a lot of paint and the best way to remove them is to sand them out and then remove your sanding marks.

I don't know...I've always had great results with SSR3. But man don't use it unless you mean it. It's like liquid sandpaper. The new SSR1 cleans it up real nice.
