Have always done it by hand... never thought it could get better. I started reading and doing more research, and I finally succumbed to the PC temptation. Let me just say, I am retarded for never getting this sooner. It was so easy to use and the results are just amazing. Hands down, my wife's 2002 Civic never looked this good. I just did 1 panel this afternoon/tonight, but I am hoping to do the rest this weekend if I can... we'll see.

Was delighted to see this waiting on my doorstep:

Here's what I was trying to remove... ewwwwww

And after a quick clay, Menzerna PO87MC Micro Polish, P0115CQ Glaze, WG DGPS, and Souveran, here's my final result on that 1 panel:

Yes, that white speck in the upper part of the reflection is the early evening moon. After seeing this, I am never going back to waxing or polishing or swirl removing by hand. What the PC could do, I could never do without making my arm fall off or working on it for endless hours.

Thanks again to all of you who posted on this forum and convinced me to get a PC. Best detailing investment I have ever made.... hands down. I'll try to post final pics of the car once complete.

Looks great . Just proves that machine polishing is the only way to go !! And its alot easier as you get more familiar with the machine.

That panel looks sweet!

I was previously the same way! My dad always taught me to wash and wax by hand. He was very fussy and has always liked vehicles clean. Thats about it. Then I moved beside Conan777 and my eyes have been opened! I too am now a believer in the machine.

My new PC is waiting in a box for the weather to cool down, then I will tackle my three cars. Like you I have always done it by hand.

I just hope my results are as GOOD AS YOURS :) :buffing:

Thanks! I agree... that one panel took me about an hour. Then again, I was extremely careful and slow. I also spent so much time getting everything ready before I even got started lol...

I know! Ain't that bizaare? Probably one of the biggest misconceptions is that doing paint surface is safest and best by hand. A DA buffer is just as easy and just as safe.

Thanks man! I have no doubt yours will look as good if not better. It really was not hard to use. Spray conditioner (or water or detailer on pad), apply polish/glaze to pad, spread around with machine off, turn PC on at setting ~3.5 to 4, then buff until polish/glaze breaks down. Wipe off with MF and done!:D

Smart man starting with the wifes car. Makes it so much easier to justify future purchases. As long as you start your sentence with:
You: "Hey honey I'm going to buy X to try out on your car, O.K?"
Wife: "As long as mine gets done first it's o.k with me"
You: Sweeeet.

Looks great. Congrats.
I remember when I first bought the G100. What a improvement over doing it by hand. It definitely brings the detail up a couple of notches.

No doubt... how you think I was able to buy more foam pads, another glaze, and some pad cleaner/conditioners??? ;)

Thanks! Is the G100 the Flex?

Thanks man! I finally got the rest of the car polished...still in progress though... got wax left to do.

thanks, I appreciate it... am never leaving home without it ;)

Finished polishing and glazing... I still have to put 2 coats of Klasse, then WGDGPS, then Souveran...

But here are some in progress shots. Further proof that if you're a serious detailer and don't have a PC or other D/A, go out and get one... NOW.

Pre-polish:

And POST-POLISH (no glaze, no wax, just polish):

I used Menzerna MicroPolish with a white LC CCS pad at speed 4 for the above pic. The PC and Menzerna combo is unbelievable.:righton:
