Hi All,
I live in London and this is my first post

and I apologise if this has been covered elsewhere, but I could not find it

I recently moved into a apartment block and thanks to this forum I was introduce to ONR, and thanks to the guides and tips I have to say that I love the stuff.

Anyways, I purchased a cobra supreme guzzler and I'm chuffed to bits with it.

It has picked up a few small stains, which normal machine washing has not dealt with. I know they are only stains and won't damage the paint but I going to try a bit of vanish on it.

BUT will this ruin it?
Is it similar to fabric softener?

All the best

Hello!

I was perusing through some of the topics and saw no one had responded to this. I can't say I've ever tried to pre-treat with an over-the-counter product, but I think you might be ok as long as you wash a short time after pre-treating. If Vanish is like Shout! in the US, it has a number of cleaners, pH modifiers (like NaOH/Lye and Citric Acid) and borax. So, I doubt it would hurt anything.

I just got stains off some towels. I used Goo Gone (its a solvent type product derived from oranges) and APC and gently scrubbed the stain with a pad brush. Then washed 2x. Worked well.

I use Blackfire APC at 1:4 to presoak the stains. Then wash with microrestore on warm with an extra rinse and spin. Stains gone!

UPDATE: I used Shout on my MF towels yesterday after washing the car and it worked great. Just be sure to use a "free" detergent with no fragrance/softeners or a dedicated MF detergent.

An APC soak works as well (I have CG All Clean), although I mostly use APC on my pads.
