Start up compound kit?

I have the wax, sealant, polish but my compound products are lacking. What is a good start up compound kit to have for clearcoat type scratches, deeper scratches etc. I have the 3" buffer for applying wax. What is a good buffer for compounding? The issue I have with compound buffers is the vibration in my hands. Any help greatly appreciated.
