Seriously considering bringing ya down to help build my garage. Let me finalize the plans then I may have a hell of a list of stuff for ya to do. I guarantee that there will be no snow!

Very retired!

I've been 'playing with wax' since the late 50's. Never have done it as a 'real job', but have (and still do) done a LOT of "Buffing for Beer" for friends/families various vehicles/boats.

The past 4-5 years seem have been the most exciting with so many new products and ideas arriving constantly.

Tim here,grew up in a garage working on cars.Spent most of my life as a mechanic then got into the construction industry,currently on a temp. lay-off.

I have a shop here at home that I stay busy in doing mechanic work and detailing.Strictly word of mouth business,and usually just part time but since the lay-off its been 7 days a week in the shop.

Waiting for the first of the year to see what happens with my full time job,if not back to work by the end of Jan. I'll be expanding my shop and doing this full time!
 
My name is Taylor and I am in the Conversions/Aftermarket department of a boiler manufacturing company.

I just started (correctly) detailing my own, families, and friend's cars for fun last year.
 
Alex here...I work as a systems administrator for a pretty well known company. I detail mine and my fiance's cars and trying to start alittle side detailing business. I also produce music as a hobby...haven't made anything new in a long time, but am rebuilding my computers to get back on it.

-Maybe attempting to dissuade members of an enthusiasts' forum from posting?
-Perhaps both scenarios?

- How's it going with that "punk" you recently hired?
- Do you still want to "slap" him around some?

BTW:

I'm a retired professional ba!!-buster. But given today's harsh economic clime, I'm seriously giving thought to a revival of said profession...but only on a part-time basis, by appointment only. :D

Ok I am not a vengeful swashbuckler...I am an Computer Engineer for an Internet Search Engine. Some of my previous experience includes: Manufacturing Engineer and Quality Engineer for two Automotive Manufacturers.

Bought my '68 Nova when I was 15...it was in very rough shape...rebuilt the engine, repaired the body and shot it with metallic black and clear coat...have been detailing ever since.
 
Dave here. Customer care\order fulfillment for Castrol. Detailing is a hobby and I do friends and family cars occasionally. Been a car nut my entire life. I've always maintained my cars mechanically and appearance wise, but I'd say the true "detailing" (ie machine polishing etc) really bit me when I bought my SVT in '07 and wanted to maintain the beautiful finish the previous owner kept on it since new.

As a few others mentioned, wouldn't mind doing some detailing on the side for some extra fun money.

I've got a buddy at work who is going to be starting a detailing business sometime after the 1st of the year, so I've offered to help him set up shop etc, then help on details as needed.

Ha...yeah...there are two different questions at play here.

When did I start "detailing"? When I was 15 and got my first car. When the engine was out, I spent day and night under that hood cleaning every nook and cranny. Carried that over into my daily drivers as I got older.

When did I start detailing properly? Only recently. While not making major meses, I did manage to swirl out my cirrent car prior to finding AG.

I'm in real estate (land only).
