Looking on starting a detail business, I've been working on cars for as long as I can remember I can paint and service even the most difficult (I own 3 Audi's), I already have jobs lined up and have completed several details with great results including paint chips, but my biggest concern is I want to be mobile in the most compact way and was wondering if using a steamer would be a good replacement for using customer's water supply or should I invest in a quality carpet extractor. Being a painter I am pretty well stocked in the finishing end of supplies and know-how.

Both have their pros and cons. You will have times where you wish you had the steamer over the extractor and vise versa

Actually have the same question. I think the answer is both! Maybe the Mytee steamer for 300 bones then hotwater extractor.

I was just in the same situation. I ordered a Mytee Lite 2 and figure I will wait and get a steamer at a later date. I'd love to have both but I figure the extractor is needed more at this moment.

I have both and think the steamer is more versatile. Both are great detailing tools.

I own both (Mytee HP 60, HX 5000) if your plan on truly doing this you should get both. If money is tight i would go steamer first. Its more versitile, I find new uses for mine everytime i use it. Great on cloth seats and all but the dirtiest of carpets. I now just use my extractor for a package called "Deep Cleaning". Big down fall for the extractor is seats, takes hours to completely dry, while steamed seats dry instantly.

Steamer IMO. We had a Mytee Lite II for about a month until we realized that we had to steam over the results lol. Also a steamer will provide MUCH more versatility than that of an extractor.

I have both but If I was starting out I would get the extractor first.

I have both as well, although after my next full interior job, I might return it to AG.

Its a really tough decision.. But I'd go steamer

Buy a carpet brush for your polisher (has to be specific make I think) and the LBGMPH.. That will yield acceptable results

Thanks! you guys are awesome I think for now I'm going to go with the Mytee Firebird and follow up, "Just in case", with the small Mytee S300 extractor for now.
