Step by Step with Dodo's HomeBrew Wax Kit

great writeup --- this is one wax I would like to make myself !

Can I ask a noob question? What is point of this kit?

Excellent write up! If I were to venture down this road I would certainly use this guide!

Thanks

Jesse

Great step-by-step write-up, but I still don't understand the "why?" of this thing!

"Olive Juice" I like it man!! Very cool Chris, very cool. Great job! Thanks for sharing!!!

Awesome write up, clear pictures and directions. I feel like I just made a home brew kit living vicariously through your pictures.

:iagree: thank you

I can only speculate, but I wonder if it's to try and show people how much/ how little the carnauba content of a wax affects performance.

It releases the "inner chemist" in many of us... besides that, I'll stick by what I wrote in my first post about this new product, which is post #17 on page 2 of this thread,

Dodo Juice Home Brew Wax Kit - In Stock!

In an answer to Mark aka 07 z-oh-6

Not to burst the bubble, but I do not get what all the craze is about?

Are you kidding?

I don't throw the word genius around very often but in my opinion these make-you-own-wax kits are pure genius.

These are going to make awesome Birthday and Christmas gifts for the car enthusiasts in your life or for kids!

I'm buying one for my son for Christmas, he's 12 and anything related to science like making your own wax will be a HUGE hit!

My Dad has always been a car guy and currently owns a cream-puff white 1965 Ford Thunderbird and at his age it's pretty hard to find a gift for him that's unique and he hasn't already bought for himself so I'm sure this will be a huge hit with him as well.

Plus bragging rights to all his car buddies that he made his own wax...

Heck I'm placing an order for 4 of these kits right now while they're still in stock! I would suggest to anyone else that if you're looking for a gift for someone in your life that's into cars to place your order today because we only had 30 or so come in and at least half of them have already left the building...

You snooze... you lose...

:D

I'll also stick by my thread here on this new product and back it by saying that it was a huge hit with my son as well as one of my friends that I sent a kit as a gift for their kids...

The **fun** gift with the "Cool Factor* for the car enthusiast in your life!

Christmas is approaching real fast and sometimes it can be a challenge to find a fun gift to give to a friend or family member. I don't know about the rest of you guys but here's how I feel about shopping malls...

A Shopping Mall is to me like Kryptonite is to Superman... that is as soon as I set my foot inside the Shopping Mall all my energy is drained from me...

So when I saw these new "make your own wax kits" come into Autogeek the first thing I thought was not only is it an awesome gift for kids into cars but also my car buddies and even my Dad!

Sure to some of our hardcore pro detailers and enthusiast detailers on the forum it's no big deal but that's because you're so close to this industry... try to look at this kit from the eyes of someone that doesn't hang out on a detailing discussion forum all day discussing waxes, paint sealants and coatings!

Boys, and even girls love doing science projects and this is just like a science project in their eyes... and for my Dad, it's going to be something unique that he's never bought himself already and every time he goes to a car show he's going to be able to show all his buddies the awesome shine on his T-bird and then how he created the results by pulling out a jar of his own wax.

This kit has a cool factor that just can't be beat by a new tie for Dad or a new toy for Johnny....

I heard we received 30 of these kits and I just bought 4 of them for my presents on my Christmas shopping list and I might buy a few more as names of other people I need to buy gifts for come to mind throughout the day...

So forget about yourself, think of someone that's hard to buy for but is into cars or a young man or girl that would have more fun making their own wax versus playing with a doll or assembling yet another Lego masterpiece and get your order in quick!

You snooze... you lose...

I have two more to send out as gifts before Christmas and I might even pick up a couple more...

for us Dodos, it is like inviting everyone to where we started. in our kitchen, saucepans and raw ingredients all over the place - just having a go. we enjoyed it so much - Dom and i started a little company.... and then we were hooked. granted it might not make sense to all - or even appeal to all:

it is what you make of it 8)
